behave, Caine.” Simone snuggled closer.
Rex frowned and rubbed his hand suggestively over her hip. “Don’t behave too much.”
Simone giggled. It was a strange sound, par snort, part wheeze. The noise made Jenna wince.
“There’s too many people.” Caine took Jenna’s hand. “This isn’t some pleasure cruise, Rex. We have a job to do.”
“Could have fooled me.” Rex removed his arm from around Simone and pointed his cane at Jenna. “If this was a business trip, then she wouldn’t be coming now, would she?”
Jenna let go of Caine’s hand and stepped back. “Perhaps this wasn’t such a good idea.”
“No, you’re coming with us.” Caine grabbed her fingers and started leading her down the dock. “Besides, Simone was just leaving.”
“Excuse me?” Simone frowned as she shimmied over to the side of the boat. “I’m the one who brought the beer.” She pointed to the blue cooler on the deck. “If I go, the beer goes, too.”
“Aw, come on, Caine. Don’t send away the beer,” Rex said as she stepped up behind Simone and made a show of checking out her ass. “We’ll need to celebrate when we bring up that piece from the friar.” He rubbed his palm over Simone’s backside suggestively.
    “Friar?” Jenna asked.
“And gold,” Simone added as she pressed her ass into Rex’s fingers. “Don’t forget the gold coins.”
“There aren’t any gold coins,” Caine said.
“There isn’t?” Simone straightened, removing her backside from Rex’s eager hand.
“Of course there is, darling.” Rex slid his fingers over Simone’s ass cheek and flashed Caine a warning look. “There’s plenty of gold to go around.”
    “Rex—”
“Don’t ruin this for me, cuz’.” Rex said as he dropped his gaze to Simone’s ass. “You’ve already taken so much away from me. Don’t take this, too.”
    Caine made a frustrated noise.
“Could someone please tell me what’s going on?” Jenna asked.
“He didn’t tell you, honey?” Simone grabbed Rex’s hand and kissed his palm. “These two hunky sailors are treasure hunters.” She slid one of Rex’s fingers into her mouth and slowly ran her lips and tongue over his digit. “And Rex is going to save one of the biggest pieces for me.” She turned to face Rex and flicked her tongue over the tip of his finger. “Isn’t that right, baby?”
Rex visibly shivered, making Jenna want to gag.
“That’s right.” Rex curled his fingers around Simone’s palm. “So right.”
Jenna wasn’t sure if she could take much more of this. She needed answers, and it was obvious she wouldn’t get them from either Simone or Rex. “Caine?”
When he didn’t immediately answer, she turned and found him staring at Rex and Simone. His jaw was locked and his hands fisted at his sides.
    “Caine?” she asked again.
Of all the dirty, low-down, rotten… Caine was too angry to speak. He knew his cousin was upset about Jenna, but he had no idea Rex would go to such lengths to make Caine look like a fool.
“Caine, answer me. What does Simone mean that she is going to get a piece of treasure? This all belongs to the Master of the Island, doesn’t it?”
Jenna needed an explanation. He could sense her getting angrier by the minute. Unfortunately, he had no idea what to tell her. Jenna had always taken the straight and narrow. She wouldn’t understand how selling some of the artifacts on the black market was going to help their future. She’d only see the here and now and be upset that they were taking money from a person who could afford to run his own island.
No, he couldn’t tell her the whole truth, but he could tell her part of it. Caine ground his teeth and then turned his attention to Jenna. “Not all of the artifacts are going to the Master of the Island.”
“Damn straight,” Rex said as turned away from Simone and focused on them. “Come on, ladies. The day is wasting. Caine and I have to be back at the spa for ten, sharp.” Rex moved
