“Yea. Waiting 4 u. Can sleep here if u want.”
He sent back: “Sounds good. Going by my apt to pick up clothes. Be there in 30. Want me to pick up dinner?”
A minute or so went by before his phone dinged.
“No, will order delivery. Don’t drive any more than u have 2. C u soon. Be careful.”
He smiled and tossed his phone into the passenger seat. He couldn’t remember having anyone worry over him who wasn’t in his family. It was kind of nice. He frowned at the thought, though. If she worried about him driving home, she was definitely going to worry when he went on a mission. And orders had come down today. They’d be leaving the day after the wedding, and would return…well, whenever it was completed. It probably wouldn’t take more than a week or two at most, but that meant he had a day and a half left with her before he left. This was why he’d steered clear of relationships. It was also why Navy SEALs had such a high divorce rate. The job was addictive to a SEAL and hell on a spouse. He’d seen plenty of divorces and unhappy marriages result from the job. But SEALs always seemed willing to give up on the marriage before the job. He considered the possibilities. Would he take a desk job for Callie? He blew out an irritated sigh. Probably not. At least not right now. But what if they were together for years, and she threw down the ultimatum? He discarded the idea. A SEAL’s time in the field was limited. Eventually, he’d settle into a desk job like the rest of the SEALs who came before him. If you don’t bite the bullet first.
He acknowledged that fact with a grimace. He never left for a mission under the illusion that he was without a doubt coming home. He knew the risks, and he took them willingly. He pulled into his spot at his apartment complex and put those thoughts aside. They’d figure it out as they went. But for right now, he wasn’t going to give Callie up for a bunch of what-ifs.

Callie jumped nervously at the knock on her door. He’s here! She wrung her hands and dug her nails into her palms before working up the courage to unlock the door and open it. Jesus H. Christ. He was still in his uniform, and she was not immune to it. No sirree, not at all. She scanned him from head to toe, unable and unwilling to stop the flood of moisture that soaked her panties. He was pressed and polished, and looked so…official and intimidating standing there in…well, she didn’t know what the uniform was called, but… Damn. Just…Damn. Her mouth watered and she had a sudden urge to yank him inside, pull his dick out, and blow him while he was still wearing the entire uniform. Even the hat.
“Hi,” he said softly, hefting an overnight bag onto his shoulder.
    “Hi,” she breathed.
“You okay?” he asked, reaching for her.
Before he could touch her, though, she muttered, “To hell with it,” and grabbed his hand and jerked him inside. She wrapped her arms around his neck and lifted up on her tiptoes to kiss him. He still had to bend down because of his height, but he slammed the door and dropped his bag so he could wrap both arms around her and lift her up to meet his lips. Their tongues tangled and their teeth clashed. She’d always thought that would be awkward, but it wasn’t. She ran her hands down his chest and focused on his belt, trying to figure it out without the benefit of sight.
“Whoa,” he said, setting her back on her feet. She looked up at him and he cursed softly. “It’s like that, is it?” He grinned, obviously all too happy for it to be exactly like that.
“Yeah,” she muttered, continuing to fumble with his belt. When she finally figured it out, she opened his pants and reached inside. He was already hard, just from a kiss, and she pulled him free of his pants and stood back to look at him. Amazing. She couldn’t believe how sexy it was—him standing there in his sharp uniform with his dick rising up from his
