Logic
“It is more than sufficient. I must say, I do love your new look. Those suits sucked.”
“Thank you, it was an opinion shared by many.” She nibbled at her own food and came to the conclusion that if you prepared them properly, gashki tasted like peanut butter.
Damn it. The changes in her body had reached her taste buds.
“I have to confess to curiosity. What is he like in bed?”
Bebe sipped at her tea. “He likes to cuddle and prefers the right side.”
Tamra rolled her eyes. “No, I mean what is sex like with a man strong enough to snap you in half?”
Bebe smiled and winked at the figure that suddenly landed behind her friend. “Why don’t you ask him yourself? He has been in his bed with a partner many more times than I have.”
Toyo came over and took a seat at their table, sending the server scurrying for a plate. Toyo didn’t wait; he reached over and took Bebe’s cup out of her hand, sipping her tea. “Hello, love. Thank you for the note. I would have worried.”
She smiled wryly and pushed her plate of sandwiches toward him. “Busy day, dear?”
Bebe refilled the cup and added the sweetener and drop of cream he preferred.
“Loesh got stuck in an erupting volcano, so Drovin and I had to get him out while Rand cleared all the wildlife.”
Tamra was sitting with her mouth open in astonishment.
“Oh, Toyo, this is my friend Tamra. Tamra, this is Toyo of the Guardians in case you wondered.”
Toyo inclined his head while eating all of Bebe’s food. He had started nibbling from her plate on day two, whether she was done with it or not.
The server came forward, and she ordered another round of snacks for the table. It wouldn’t take Toyo long to clear them all. Flying worked up an appetite.
Women around them began to look at him longingly. To Bebe’s embarrassment, he took her hand and pressed a long kiss to her knuckles. When he placed her hand back on the table, he refused to release it.
The majority of women sighed mournfully and looked away.
Bebe frowned. “Don’t think that you can use me to turn away your adoring fans. I mean, if you are taken, who will be left? Rand?”
He grinned. “Are you telling me to flirt with those women? Or is the wrong answer here going to get me an ass kicking.”
    Tamra gasped in horror.
She narrowed her eyes at him. “I am testing you, as penance for eating my lunch.”
The replacement food arrived and was all set in front of Toyo. He nodded and offered the platters to Bebe first.
Tamra couldn’t believe what she was seeing, and it showed on her face.
Bebe took her favourites and blithely waved away the others. She grinned and he grinned as they finished their meal.
“That…that is some weird foreplay, isn’t it?” Tamra was catching on.
Toyo and Bebe dissolved in laughter that drew every eye in the café. Once she was finished eating, he hauled her into his lap and they continued their visit with Tamra.
She adapted quickly, and after a few hours, she regretfully left them to their own devices and headed home.
Bebe watched her friend walk away and picked up her parcels. “That was a good afternoon. Thanks for coming along.”
Toyo grabbed her bags in one hand and offered her his arm. “I saw the skimmer on the way in. I will fly escort, because with all these bags, we would drop over the bay.”
“Ha, ha. Who is the one constantly complaining about my suits?”
    “That would be me.”
“Well, now that I no longer smell like walking sex, I can wear normal clothing. Today was all about comfort.”
    “Why am I suspicious?”
“My tone? Or perhaps because you are beginning to appreciate my sense of humour.” She laughed and squeezed his arm.
“I appreciate many things about you; now, let’s get back to base so I can demonstrate how many.”
He waggled his eyebrows and she laughed again. Time to go home.
