“What does that mean?”
“Nothing. Goodnight, Sarah. I love you.” And with that, he hung up.
I couldn’t help but think he had only proposed to me to get in my pants. Regret began to suffocate me as I laid awake in bed for hours, questioning my decisions and morals.

I rubbed my bleary eyes and figured it was time to go to bed. Tom was still sulking out in the living room because of the American Express bill. Fuck him! One good thing came out of it, he gave me inspiration for a much-needed fight scene. Readers love their angst.

It took me three hours to get ready to meet Missy. That wasn’t even factoring in my weekly hair and nail appointments. Okay, bi-weekly, but my Facebook fans thought it was weekly. I loved posting pictures of my newly painted toes and designs. Missy was supposed to pick me up in twenty minutes, so I needed to hurry and finish getting ready.
Tom still wasn’t speaking to me and I was glad. It made my going out that much better. It was as if I was doing it to spite him. He kept staring at me, trying to figure out where I was going, but he was too proud to ask. Ha!
    “Missy’s here,” Tom called.
Now he knew what I was up to, I smirked. He would probably act like nothing was wrong in front of Missy. Everyone leads a double-life if you really think about it. You don’t divulge certain details of what goes on behind closed doors. I knew Principal fucker took it up the ass, but you didn’t see her announcing that at a staff meeting. See… double-life.
“Hello,” I greeted Missy as I grabbed my clutch from the counter near the front door. I hugged her since she came toward me and it was evident that was what she expected.
“You two have fun! Stay out of trouble,” Tom warned and took me into an embrace. “I’m sorry that I got angry. We’ll talk later, okay?” he whispered into my ear. Then he kissed me patiently and stuck his tongue in my mouth and moaned.
Total gag-worthy! Okay then. I smiled sexily as he closed the door behind us. At least we had made up. Not that it would have ruined my evening anyway.
“Are you ready to have some fun?” I asked Missy as she drove us to the bar. It was an entertaining venue. There was a large dance floor and it got pretty crowded on the weekends. None of the folks from my small town would frequent it, though. That was an easy prediction to make.
We talked the entire way and Missy told me a little more about her childhood. Some of the things she told me were shocking. But instead of feeling sorry for her, I was deliciously excited about the new material I had gathered for my book. Yeah, that might be wrong, but I didn’t care.
Once we made our way through the small crowd to the bar, I looked for Keegen. I didn’t see him yet.
“Keegen, your bitch is here,” one of the bartenders called.
Nice! I thought and inwardly grimaced, but kept a sexy smile firmly in place on my face.
“Sorry about that.” Keegen leaned over the bar and kissed me.
When he stuck his tongue in my mouth, I sucked on it. It was deliciously sexy and I knew everyone was staring, which made me deepen the kiss and stick my tongue down his throat.
He groaned. “Little girl, you’re giving me a hard-on.”
“Down boy.” I sat back down on my stool and grinned at him. “I’ll fix you later.”
I looked over at Missy and she looked like she might faint.
“This is my lover, Keegen,” I introduced him. “This is Missy, a friend from high school.”
“Nice to meet you,” Missy whispered. I was waiting for the color to come back to her face.
“Everyone cheats,” I spouted. “It’s not a big deal.”
“Who am I to judge?” Missy shrugged her shoulders and took the seat beside me, but still looked white as a ghost.
“What can I get you two to drink?” Keegen grinned. He had a small sheen of sweat over his body, and his shirt was off, tucked into his back pocket. It was beyond sexy as hell. I silently wished I could fuck him over the bar
