nearest hospital as soon as possible. They didn’t have the X-ray machine they needed to see if he in fact did crack his pelvic bone.
    “Please hurry. I can’t stand the pain I’m in. I need something for the pain,” Lenny told the guard that was transporting him to the hospital. There were two guards sitting in the front seat of the vehicle.
    The guard whose name he remembered, Officer Creekhorn, turned in the passenger’s seat and said, “Quit your bellyaching, we’re just about there.”
    They pulled around to the back entrance to the hospital and escorted Lenny out and into a wheelchair, which he was then handcuffed to. As they wheeled him in, he noticed they placed him in a room away from civilians.
    “Where’s the doctor. Please, go get him.”
    The guard that had driven them to the hospital then addressed him. “Hold on, let me go see where the doctor is.” He left the room. Officer Creekhorn stood guard at the door and watched Lenny.
    Lenny had only a few minutes for his plan to work. “Please. I need to lie down. Can you un-cuff me so I can lie down until the doctor comes in?”
    “Just sit tight, Cook. He’ll be in before you know it.”
    “No. Please. Oh God, the pain! I need to lie down.”
    The guard grabbed his key ring off his belt and walked toward Lenny’s wheelchair. “I’m going to un-cuff you, Cook, if you make any sudden moves I will not hesitate to shoot your ass.” The guard unlocked the cuffs and let Lenny up off the chair.
    Lenny made his way slowly to the bed hunched over, acting like he was in excruciating pain, before the guard knew what hit him, Lenny stood up straight and faced him. He threw a punch so hard the guard had no idea what had happened. Officer Creekhorn’s head snapped back, and he fell to the ground. Lenny took that time to kick the guard in the stomach until he no longer moved.
    He quickly stripped the guard of his clothes and put them on. He grabbed the gun the guard was carrying and made his way to the door. He peeked his head out the door to make sure no one was coming down the hallway. Lenny made his way down the hall, making sure to keep his head down. Undetected, he headed the same way they had originally entered. He was on his way to pay Alexis Brooks the visit she deserved.

Chapter Seven
     
    Things with Alexis were panning out better than Kane ever imagined they would turn out between them. She had proven to be the woman that they had always wanted to be with. Kane couldn’t believe that in just a few days, this one woman had turned his and Max’s world inside out. She had made them feel and want things they had only dreamed about having with a woman.
    He stood at the doorway of the master bathroom and watched as Max prepared the whirlpool bath for her. Kane knew that Max felt the same way about Lexi as he did. He could see the love and admiration in his eyes when they took her together out in the barn.
    Now, Max was sitting on the edge of the tub bathing her. All Kane could do was watch the way his brother showed Lexi the softer side of him. He admired the way he washed every inch of her body and wasn’t too rough with her, being particularly careful with her womanly parts. Kane never thought of himself as a softy. Something about this beautiful woman brought out the he-man, dominant side at some moments, yet he wanted nothing more than to wrap her up like a fragile, little flower and allow nothing to hurt or touch her ever again. He had never felt so sappy for a woman in all his life. Yeah, I think we’re done for .
    “Seems Lexi is falling asleep in the bath there, bro. Let’s get her to bed now. I think we could all use a nap.” He watched as her eyes half closed while Max bathed her in the tub. Kane handed Max a big, fluffy, white towel and grabbed one for himself. Max lifted her out of the tub and onto his lap as he sat on the corner of the tub, drying off her upper body while Kane dried off her lower half.
