with a pearl necklace to give an innocent flair to her seductive lady in red ensemble, topping it off with the sexiest red shoes imaginable. It was enough to drive him crazy. His heart was in his throat when he held his hand out to her and pulled her close, placing a tender kiss at the base of her throat when he hugged her against his muscled chest.
“Exquisite. You truly look like an angel. Have mercy on me , baby. You’ve made me speechless.”
Her nails ran softly over the back of his neck as she held on to him, breathing in his sensual male fragrance and whispering so only he could hear, “Happy Birthday , Papi. I hope you like your gift.” She smiled up at him and skimmed her fingers over his cheek, kissing the corner of his mouth.
His eyebrow rose in question. “I’m sure I’ll love anything from you. What did you get me?”
Her smile was full of mischief when she replied quietly, “Me—I’m your present.”
He sucked in a gulp of air and laughed hoarsely, “Mmm, best present ever…”
Angel gave him a saucy grin replying, “I propose we skip the dancing after dinner and instead, we can come back here and you can unwrap your gift to see what’s underneath.”
The grip he had on her waist tightened and he ached to pull her closer. Unfortunately, they weren’t alone. Not only was her family around, but Tank and Dom showed up with a boisterous and very off-key rendition of Happy Birthday that had them all joining in.
They piled in to Rage and Vito’s club cab pickup trucks and rode to the restaurant in the midst of laughter and teasing which only increased as they all sat around the large round table, eating dinner family style. Platters of steaming pasta, crisp salad and soft buttery garlic bread were passed around. The wine was as free-flowing as the rain that poured from the sky. Dakota could hardly believe the connection he not only shared with Angel, but with her family as well. He got along easily with her brother, sister-in-law and father. Angel had already won over Dominic and Tank. Both men had taken a liking to her and weren’t afraid to clamor for her attention, starting out by fighting over who got to sit next to her.
She took it all in with ease, soaking up the attention, but also by being sweet natured towards everyone. A few fans approached her during dinner and she took it in stride even though they were eating. She was signing autographs and taking pictures, talking about racing with them and making each person feel special. It made him proud. His girl was star by her own right yet she remained down to earth and humble . She was thankful for the fans that went out of their way to praise her and support her. He reached out and tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear and kissed her cheek. The smile she gave him was brighter than the sun. He loved seeing her so vibrant and happy. She was everything he thought she would be and more.

Running from the truck to Angel’s trailer through sheets of pouring rain left them soaked to the bone and shivering, though the distance wasn’t far. Dakota watched as she locked the door and tossed her handbag on the table. Next, she kicked off her shoes and headed towards her bedroom, crooking her finger at him in a come hither motion. A shoe here, another there, then the black belt that had cinched her waist soon followed.
He stalked after her like a panther. Pulling his shirt off and dropping it to the floor, unbuckling his belt, unzipping his pants and kicking his shoes off, leaving behind a trail of discarded clothing. His breath caught when her dress slipped provocatively to a pool of red a t her feet, leaving her wearing a sexy red lace bra and matching panties. He walked towards her clad in black silk boxers, stopping long enough to pull his socks off as he watched her pull her hair down, letting the wet satin tresses brush over her shoulders like a waterfall. She moved to unfasten her bra but he stepped forward, caught her hands and
