cleaning around here or
something," said Tyler's father.
    "I can do
that," I found myself chirping in.
    Tyler led me into one
of the bedrooms and told me to sit down on the bed. He sat down next to me and spoke.
    "Vivian, what
happened earlier was a mistake. I shouldn't have had sex with you like that. So
in order to somewhat make things right again, I need you to stay here with my
father until I figure out a better alternative for your situation."
    "I don't
understand, Tyler. Why was it a mistake? I mean, I know I'm not experienced or
anything. So maybe it wasn't as good for you as it was for me. But to call it a
mistake, isn't that a bit harsh?"
    "No, Vivian, it
wasn't a mistake because I didn't enjoy being inside of you. That's not it at
all. It's just...it's complicated."
    "Then please explain
it to me."
    "I don't have time
to do that right now. I need to get back to the house as soon as possible. So
just listen to me and stay here."
    "Can't I go back
to my own house?"
    "No, you won't be
safe there. The gang will be sure to look there first once they realize that
you're missing. This is the safest place for you right now," he said as he
turned to leave.

    Tyler
    My father was the last
person on Earth I wanted to ask a favor from. But right now, he was the only
one I could count on to help keep Vivian safe from the gang. The Alpha Outlaws
knew how strained my relationship with my father was; they would never think to
come to his house to look for Vivian there.

    Vivian
    I was no longer a
captive at the gang's sanctuary. I should have been happy. But instead, I was
more miserable than I had ever been. No, it wasn't because I still wasn't
allowed to go home. But rather, it was because I had the feeling I might never
get to see Tyler again.
    For the first time
since meeting Tyler, I actually felt used by him. He took my virginity, then
discarded me right afterward.
    Sure, he said it was
for my own good. But it didn't feel that way to me at all. Instead, I felt as
if I was a pet he had grown tired of and was now giving away for adoption.

    Tyler
    The gang wasn't happy
about me letting Vivian out of the house. One of the elder members even
threatened to kill me if I didn't reveal to him where I had hidden her. But I
didn't give a damn. It wasn't like I cared much about my own life anyway.
    Eventually, the Alpha
Outlaws stopped harassing me about Vivian. But I could tell they were still
keeping a close eye on me. Therefore, I didn't dare to come to my father's
house to visit her.

    Vivian
    Three months. That's
how long it had been since I last saw Tyler. I had kept my word and helped
Tyler's dad, Mr. Dobson, with the cooking and cleaning around the house.
In a way, it was very
much like living at home. I was doing house chores and hiding away in my room
for most of the day. The only main difference was that I no longer had school
work to attend to now.
    In the beginning, Mr.
Dobson and I both kept our distance from each other. Then one day, Tyler's dad made
small talk with me.
     "You're a good
cook for someone your age," he said.
    "Thanks. I've had
lots of practice."
    "What's a nice girl
like you doing with Tyler anyway? He's in a gang, you know?"
    "Yes, I know. But
I don't care. Despite everything, he's the best thing to have ever happened to
me."
    "Well, then my son
is one lucky guy."
    "Too bad he
doesn't think so."
    "Why do you say
that?"
    "Why else would he
leave me here without ever coming back to check on me?"
    "You couldn't be
more wrong, little lady. If he didn't care about you, he would have never
bothered to step foot inside this house again. Besides, he did check up on your
status."
    "He did? He was
here?" I asked with wide-opened eyes.
"Well, not here here. But he did get in touch with me to make sure you were doing okay at
my place."
    "Why didn't he
come see me for himself?"
    "He's just trying
to keep you safe."
    " Safe? Why
is that the only explanation I ever get from him? I need to know what's
