Plus, there is no commute – I only have to walk down from our mansion, across the way, and then I’m at work.
I love the people in the resort office too, not to mention the location.
But most of all, I feel that my work is valued. People come to me with genuine questions and I love solving them.
I feel like this is where I belong.
“What time do they land?” Grayson asks.
“They arrive at four o’clock this afternoon. I’m so excited, Grayson. I’m really looking forward to introducing them to you,” I smile.
Rachael and Zoe are both arriving this evening for another week’s getaway. They suggested that we make it an annual event, especially now that this is my home.
I love the idea of it.
Through all of life’s ups and downs, they have been there for me. They’re as close to me as my real family.
At least, I can finally say now that life is no longer on the down.
Life is on the up and it shows no signs of changing anytime soon.
“So, do you have any free time before you need to go to work?” Grayson asks with a cheeky smile.
“Maybe… what are you suggesting?”
“I know this spot, up on a hill, where it would be perfect for two people to celebrate where they first met, exactly one year ago today.”
“Really? One year ago today?”
“Uh-huh,” he flashes another wicked grin.
We begin to walk towards the tiki hut.
“Wait, don’t we have to ask the owner first?” I quip, squeezing his hand tight.
“Oh, don’t worry. I know him. He doesn’t mind.”
“Oh, yeah. That’s right,” I say with a wink. “I know his girlfriend pretty well too. She totally doesn’t mind either…”
