No other woman had made him react so intensely.
He’d missed her. Too damned much. He realized it now that she was back. But out of respect for Kayne’s wishes and because Eve looked worn out, he would wait to take her.
Eve had finally returned, needing their help to remember. Riley, for one, was happier than a pig in shit. Yeah, sure, he was pissed off, too. Who wouldn’t be?
Eve had lost her memory and opted to take off with some pregnant chick she’d just met. A woman who had been tight-lipped about who she was and where she’d found Eve.
He didn’t know what Eve had endured at the hands of her captors during the short time she’d been with them. He didn’t want to think about what, because if he allowed his thoughts to go in that direction, he would be capable of murder, not that he wasn’t already just by them taking her. The whistle of the teakettle brought him out of his thoughts.
“Do you still like chamomile?” Riley asked when he spotted her returning to camp.
She nodded and threw him a watery smile. He really should embrace her. Welcome her back. Warm her. Take her as he’d done so many times when she’d been here with the gang.
Instead, he stifled his impulse and his needs. Being without a woman, without Eve, for so long as he had, had been hell on him and the others. Rest assured, he would put his pent-up sexual energy to good use. He would make damned sure Eve was pleasured so much that she wouldn’t dream about leaving them again.
    Ever.

Eve’s heart was still pounding when a little while later, she climbed under Mad’s thick grizzly bear pelt blanket. He’d generously offered it to her, and she’d eagerly accepted, knowing it would chase away the chill clutching her flesh.
It was warm beneath the hide, and she closed her eyes and inhaled Mad’s scent. Raw, primal man. The smell of him still fired her blood as it had done from the moment she’d met him that first time in the pleasure house where they’d rescued her from. Back then, she’d been desperate, fully prepared to give herself to any man who would pay her the money she needed to buy food. When the three of them had arrived at her room in the pleasure house on her third week there, she’d been stunned that the house master wanted her to sleep with all of three of them.
    At the same time .
They’d been tender with her, not knowing this had been her first time in a ménage. God, they’d been so good. Their touches had sent wickedly delicious sensations snapping through her and sent her knees to trembling. Just as she was feeling now.
She couldn’t believe how easily she’d given into Kayne’s demands about her sleeping with them again. She should have at least given them an illusion of a fight, instead of panting after them like she was some sex-starved woman.
Truth was, during her memory loss, she’d only masturbated to fantasies of being taken by more than one man. But with the returning of some of her memories, she was aching to have sex with them. Instinctively, she knew the only way to get rid of those aches wasn’t through masturbation.
She would have to sleep with men she was only starting to remember. Sleep with all three of them. Eve tugged the bear hide over her head, chasing the cold air out as well as the sound of the howling wind, and tried to fall asleep.

“Something’s different about her,” Maddox voiced to the other two as the three of them washed themselves early the next morning in the frigid waters of Stanley Creek. He wasn’t sure exactly what was different, but something was, and it made her even more attractive to him. They’d taken turns on lookout duty last night. Each of them took two hours.
At the crack of dawn, they’d left Eve, who’d been fast asleep beneath Mad’s favorite grizzly bear hide blanket, her head poking out. Her black bandana did nothing to keep her shiny hair from being splashed out like a golden-brown waterfall on her outstretched arm,
