way.”
“Asjiah give me the phone.”
My right eyebrow rose as I snapped my neck back and whipped my head in his direction. “Give you the phone? You actually want to talk to this bitch?”
“You heard em‟, give him the phone.”
“Shut the fuck up Corey.” I looked from the phone then to CJ as I had a moment of clarity, “Wait a minute…does she know?”
“Give me the phone Asjiah.”
“Answer the fucking question CJ, does she know?”
He couldn‟t look at me; instead his face displayed this blank, stupid ass expression. His silence gave me the answer I needed.
I didn‟t know what else to say, I flipped the phone shut and threw it in his face hitting him square in the nose before getting out the car.
“Take yo‟ phone. I should punch you in your fucking face!”
“Asjiah,”
I was crying more out of anger than sadness as I listened to him yell my name. I wasn‟t going to turn around but he needed to hurt as much as I did. I walked back up to the driver‟s side and stopped a few feet away from the window.
“What do you want?”
“A‟, it‟s not what you think. I stopped fucking with her a long time ago but she keeps calling.”
I reached through the window and touched the side of his face, “Its okay baby, I believe you.”
CJ stared back at me confused. “You do?” “Yeah,”
“Good, because I don‟t wanna fight with you A‟, get back in the car; I‟ll take you to get something to eat and we can go back to my house.”
“Nah, it‟s cool. I‟m gonna call Money; I‟m sure he knows how to be faithful, besides if this was his child, I think he would be happy to know that I‟m having a boy.” CJ‟s throat suddenly felt dry.
“It‟s a boy?”
I didn‟t wait to see the reaction on his face instead I threw my hood back over my head as thunder signaled the oncoming storm.
No I didn‟t know what I was having, and yes it was wrong of me to lie to him but why should I give a fuck about his feelings when he clearly didn‟t give two shits about mine?
    “I ‟m having a son?”
Asjiah‟s words kept replaying over and over again in CJ‟s mind as he drove down 116 th towards St. Clair.
He had been so adamant about her having an abortion, so insensitive to what she was going through to the point where he disconnected himself from her pregnancy entirely. But now things had changed, not only had she decided to keep the baby but she was carrying his son.
The sudden realization of this mornings events and what almost happened came rushing to him all at once as he opened the car door and threw up in Corey‟s driveway.
    “What‟s wrong with you?”
“Nothing,”
Corey stood on the front porch and looked at CJ in
disgust as he wiped vomit from his mouth.
“You really need to learn how to control that little
bitch of yours.”
“Not now Corey.”
Her legs glistened underneath the last rays of
sunlight as the sky turned dark and water poured down
from the clouds.
“I missed you,” A short, black satin robe struggled
to contain her voluptuous body as she walked towards him
in four-inch heels.
“Now that it‟s over, we can finally be together.”
“It‟s not over.”
“You‟re right baby, it‟s just the beginning.” Corey
squatted in front of CJ carefully balancing herself on her
stilettos, “I never felt like we were over anyway.” Usually just the thought of her lips on him got him
off but it wasn‟t working this time. Instead he was thinking
of Asjiah and how broken and afraid she looked when she
told him she couldn‟t do it. He was thinking of how
betrayed she must‟ve felt when she took her ring off, how
tears flooded her pretty blue eyes as she disappeared behind
the doors with the doctor.
“Get up.” CJ grabbed Corey by her wrists and
pulled her off the floor.
“What‟s wrong?” Corey placed her hands on the
side of his neck and tried to kiss him.
“Don‟t let her get to you.”
This moment didn‟t feel right, having her lips
pressed against his made him want to throw up
