and get some refreshments at one of the cafés at the airport. Draylon thought that a splendid idea.
At the café, Paul found a nice comfy seat whilst Draylon ordered refreshments; a pot of tea for Paul and a ham and cheese toasty, and three lattes for Draylon and two fresh croissants. Paul was very excited about seeing The Great Pyramid, but a little apprehensive about the narrow tunnels within.
â€œWhat’s our plan of action then?” Paul asked, hoping that an early night was an option.
â€œI think we should book into a hotel first and unload our luggage and then head off to the pyramid.”
â€œWhat, at night time? It’ll be dark!” Paul felt a little nervous about the idea of walking around a tomb in the pitch black.
â€œWe won’t be able to look around during the day with tourists about; it’ll have to be at night. Using the internet on your mobile and my abilities, I’ll be able to shut down all surveillance in the area. We can then sneak past any mounted police and make our way into the pyramid. We can get a couple of torches in one of the shops before we leave the airport.”
â€œI must admit that makes me nervous as hell. I’ll do it though, I think.” Paul’s adrenaline was coursing at the thought.
â€œThank you, I owe you. Tomorrow we relax though, what do you say?” Draylon admired his friend for his courage and felt as if none of this would have been possible on his own. He was lucky to have a friend like Paul.
â€œRelaxing tomorrow and a long lie-in would be perfect!” He smiled at the thought.
â€œAgreed then, and just so you know, if this truly was foretold and this journey is destiny, you share that destiny – that’s an encouraging thought.” Draylon clapped his friend on the shoulder. “Let’s head off – this is going to be a long night.”
Before they left the airport, they stopped off to buy a couple of torches and batteries, and then flagged down a taxi outside and headed off into the city to find a hotel.
They found a hotel named Hotel Khufu and checked in for several days. They took their luggage straight to their room and decided to relax a little until midnight and then head off to the pyramid. Paul felt a little anxious about the whole thing. Draylon assured him there was nothing to worry about – they’d be in and out of there in no time at all.
It was midnight. They left their hotel room and started their journey on foot towards The Great Pyramid. When they were getting near, Draylon used Paul’s mobile phone to access the internet, and using his technopathic abilities, he shut down all surveillance cameras in the area. They saw the occasional mounted officer, but found it easy to stay hidden; they soon made it just inside the entrance to the pyramid.
Once inside, they started descending down the passageway. It was pitch black, but they waited until they had made a bit of ground before putting on their flashlights. Paul was the first to put his torch on. Although in awe of the mighty pyramid, he felt uneasy and claustrophobic, and prayed he never saw any spiders. As they approached the bottom of the descending passageway, Draylon heard the high-pitched noise again. He told Paul and it eased his nerves a little. The passageway brought them out to a very large subterranean chamber; Draylon could sense the noise emanating from the dead centre of the chamber. He approached the area and using his ability to manipulate matter, he opened up the rock to reveal another piece of the amulet; piece two of the three pieces. The piece seemed to be the opposing piece to the one he found at Nazca. It was a semi-circle but slightly smaller than half a circle, which meant the next piece must be the sliver in the middle to complete the circular amulet. This piece had a singular line across it at an angle. Paul suggested it might be part of a hieroglyph that existed on the centrepiece. Draylon
