piece of amulet, and it says that our next destination is The Great Pyramid in Egypt.
âThat is a lot to take in. What sort of power will the amulet bestow?â
âThat I do not know. What I do know is that I am exhausted â letâs get back to the car before weâre seen, and go back to town to get some refreshments and something to eat.â
âYou are always hungry,â Paul laughed at his friend. âTo be honest, I have a little bit of a head-ache. One minute, Iâm on Easter Island isolated from the world, now Iâm in the centre of an alien battle.â
Draylon laughed out loud, âYou always make me laugh â come on, letâs go.â
They hiked back to the 1967 Plymouth Belvedere convertible, and made their way back to their hotel. They decided to take a stroll into town to find a place to eat. They eventually came across a little diner called Lines Café. The waitress came over to take their order. Paul ordered a large glass of water and eggs on toast; Draylon ordered a large glass of water also and four pieces of wholegrain toast.
âWhy do you think this amulet is in three pieces?â Paul was a little confused â he couldnât believe they had visited so many places in such a short period of time, and now they were about to head off again.
âI can only assume to protect it. If one piece had been removed, I could still find it with one of the other two pieces.â
âThat makes sense. Donât you find all of this a little overwhelming though?â
âAbsolutely, Iâm just going to take it one step at a time, otherwise I think my head will explode.â
Their breakfast arrived and they both ate heartily. Draylon asked Paul what he would like to do next. Paul suggested relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of Nazca, and maybe stay four days and head back to the airport in Lima on Friday. Draylon, although eager to get to Egypt, relented. He had been taking Paul all over the place, without really giving him time to relax and enjoy the break from everyday life. Draylon took the piece of amulet out of his pocket. Its shape was like a semicircle, but a bit smaller, with no markings. It was metallic and shiny. Paul wondered at how such a small insignificant looking thing could retain so much power when whole. Draylon placed it back in his pocket; they paid the bill and then made their way back to the hotel to relax by the pool. The next four days were going to involve lie-ins, relaxing, eating and just enjoying the serenity of the place that is Nazca.
It was Friday, 28th January. Draylon and Paul got up at six a.m. refreshed and ready to start their journey again. They checked out of their hotel and headed out to their 1967 Plymouth Belvedere convertible, with their belongings. Paul couldnât wait to drive it again. He got into the car, wired up his MP3 player and started the engine. He sat there just listening to it for a minute or so, and then they were off.
They arrived at Lima just after midday. They took the car back to Lima Car Hire and got a taxi to the airport. They went into the airport and booked their flights. The flight wasnât due to leave until early evening, so they decided to wait it out in the café with some magazines and lots of coffee and tea. Finally, it was time to depart. They were on their way to The Great Pyramid of Egypt â first stop, Madrid, and then onto Cairo.
Chapter Six â Egypt
They arrived at Cairo at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, 29th January. They had managed to sleep on the long journey, but still felt a little jet-lagged. Draylon was intrigued as to the nature of the amulet and couldnât help but wonder if the power within it was for good or for bad. Once bitten, twice shy, and Draylon had been devastated by the knowledge that his own people had wanted him dead. Trust was something that Draylon had become wary of. Paul interrupted Draylonâs thoughts and suggested they stop
