    Linyah wasn’t sure how she felt about

she change her mind? She had to know that her brother was going to

    “ I don’t know what she
said to your brother, but he told me what I told you. And I agree.
There had to be more than her just wanting him released. And to
keep you from healing makes no sense either. Nic said she refuses
to talk until she’s released. Will that happen, you
think?”
    Linyah shook her head. Her sister
didn’t like her, but there was no way she’d let a criminal
go.
    “ Did you know that you’re
going to have to behead her? I mean, be the one that carries out
the sentence?”
    “ Yes. It’s a part of my
job as head of security. But I’m not going to have to do this one.
Nic said he’d take care of it for me.” She was distracted and
didn’t notice right away that he’d stopped moving and was staring
at her. “What is it now?”
    “ You’re not even going to
have a trial for her? See what you could have done to make it so
she didn’t try to kill someone else?” She wanted to point out that
if she were dead, she wouldn’t be hurting someone else, but he
continued. “Is this how your kind deals with people? You simply
kill them without benefit of them saying why they did
it?”
    “ She tried to kill me. I
think that in and of itself is enough to have her beheaded, don’t
you? Or do you wish now she’d finished the job?” He was on top of
her in a heartbeat. As he moved down her body, he pulled the shirt,
which he’d tossed at her when they came out of the bathroom, from
