Gideon’s
eyebrows rose with the question.
    Amber realized that the time
had come for honesty. But she’d never opened her heart and mind this fully
before. The concept of confessing her true motivations loomed before her like a
jagged edged canyon. Could she do this? She had entrusted these men with her
body. Could she do the same with her heart and mind?
    “Tell us, Amber,” Harry
whispered into her ear. “Please.”
    She steeled herself.
“My mother … she had a love
affair with a married man.” She looked up to find Gideon’s gaze fixed and
attentive upon her. Harry kissed her ear gently. “I was the result. She was
ruined. Then along came my step-daddy. He wasn’t a good man.” She shivered.
    “What did he do?” Gideon
growled, his eyes dark with anger.
    Amber stared across the
river to the opposite banking. She had a sudden urge to release herself from
these two men and to swim away, to make her way to the other side of the river
and just keep going. Just keep running.
    But you couldn’t spend your
whole life running.
    “You can do this, sweetheart.”
Harry squeezed her shoulders. “You can trust us.”
She nodded. “I know. I knew
the moment I met you. I just didn’t allow myself to fully accept it until now.”
    She took a deep breath.
    “My mother fell deeply in
love with my step-daddy. But he was a cruel, violent man. He beat her. He
abused her. He mistreated her. And he broke her heart.” Tears flowed down her
cheeks, and she tasted their salt as they slid into the corners of her mouth.
“When she died she was just a shell, a husk of the woman she had once been. It
didn’t happen overnight or over a few months or even a few years. It was
systematic. But he destroyed her.”
    “And that’s why you said
that you never want to marry?” Harry broke into her pain.
    Amber nodded.
“I swore that I’d never be
like my mother. Never let a man hurt me.”
    “Oh
sweetheart!” Both men spoke at once, and
Amber felt them encircle her with their hands and bodies, pressing her between
them so that she felt safe and warm.
    Gideon leant forwards and
pressed his mouth onto hers. His kisses were hot and hungry, and Amber moaned
as he reached down and adjusted his cock so that it pressed into her opening.
She gasped, recalling that he was even bigger than Harry. Would it hurt?
    “Relax your muscles and let
the water and your own lubrication ease me in,” he whispered.
She did as he suggested, and
inch by inch, he slipped inside her until she was totally full and stretched
inside. She bobbed there for a moment, supported by the water and Gideon’s
hands, which gripped her ass. Then Harry pressed himself tighter against her
back and wrapped his arms around her.
    “What do
you want, Amber?” Gideon stared into her eyes, and she shook her head.
    “I’m—I’m
not sure.”
    “I don’t
mean here … now. I can guess that.” Gideon smiled. “I mean after today. For the future. What does your dream life look like?”
    Hot tears
burned at her eyes, and her throat ached. “I wish I knew. Really. All I’ve ever known is that I don’t want to repeat my mother’s mistakes.”
    “And you
think that all men are like your stepfather?” Gideon’s voice was steady and
calm.
    Amber
looked at him then turned to look at Harry. She shook her head. “I don’t think
that you two are.”
    “You’re
right, sweetheart.” Gideon kissed her cheek. Then he began to rock her gently
so that his cock stayed deep inside her but her clitoris rubbed against his
pubic bone. The action was so tender and so intense that Amber climaxed within
seconds, crying out as she did so.
    “Harry
and I, we’re good men.” Gideon lifted his strong chin. “We’ve been hurt and
suffered loss. Maybe we shouldn’t have let Sylvia get pregnant. But then … it
was what she wanted, what we all wanted. But it’s time to move on, and we’ve a
lot to offer to the right woman. If she’ll have us.”
    Amber
lifted her
