climbing
towards the pinnacle of ecstasy. His cock throbbed inside Amber’s hot flesh,
and Gideon’s length rubbed him deep inside where it felt so good.
    Amber moaned and tossed her
head as he tickled her throbbing bud with his fingers, and Gideon bit into his
shoulder as he neared his own climax.
    “Don’t come inside her,”
Gideon said, and Harry nodded. He must not fill her with his seed. He could not
get her with child. Whatever happened after today, even if by some amazing
chance Amber wanted to be with him and Gideon again, she must never conceive. That was how women got hurt.
    Suddenly, Amber thrust her
hips backwards and groaned, bucking against his fingers as orgasm claimed her
again. Straight after, Gideon’s cock swelled then pulsed as he filled Harry
with his sweet, hot cum.
    It was too much!
His own cock tensed, so he
whipped it from Amber’s body and rubbed it hard until his own ejaculation shot
from him, sticky and white, all over Amber’s rounded thighs.
    Then he fell backwards into
Gideon’s arms and laughed.
    Perfect. Delicious. Fulfilling.
    Exactly
what he had been longing for.

    Amber sat on her petticoat
and smiled as she watched Harry and Gideon frolicking in the river. They had
jumped into the cool flow to clean up, but the wash had turned into a game, and
they now took turns to splash and duck each other.
They were so much more than
two cowboys she’d met in Chicago. Gideon had a head for business, that was
true, and he wanted a better life for him and Harry. She admired that and even
envied it. She was directionless. She had wanted to make love to a man but not
to marry. But after that, following her return to Deadwood, she didn’t know
what she wanted.
    Really, her choices as a
woman were limited. She wished that she could be like Harry and Gideon, free to
carve out their own destiny in America. In fact, she realized
that she would like to be a part of their vision of a better life. But they
wouldn’t want her tagging along. What did she have to offer?
    “Amber!” Harry waved. “Come
on in!”
    She shook her head.
    “Amber!” Gideon scowled at
her. She giggled. He pointed at her then at the water in front of him.
    She grinned. She should have
a wash before getting back on that humid train. She jumped to her feet then ran
into the water, screaming as its icy grip travelled up her legs and her body
before claiming all of her as she dived into the flow.
    When she surfaced, Gideon
grabbed her upper arms and pulled her towards him. He pressed her against his
body and she felt his erection between them. She wrapped her legs around his
waist, her arms around his neck and kissed him.
    “Amber,” he whispered.
“Harry and I have been waiting for you.”
    “I know.” She grinned. “The
water looked too cold!”
“I don’t mean just now.” He
tilted his head to one side. “I mean for a long time.”
    Her heartbeat quickened.
    “It’s true, Amber,” Harry
traced kisses across her back.
    “Why me?” she asked, wanting
confirmation of what she already knew.
“We fell in love with a
woman once.” Gideon’s handsome face darkened. He pulled her closer.
    “It broke our hearts.” Harry
rested his chin on her shoulder.
“What happened?” Amber asked, her throat tight with empathy.
    “She loved us right back,”
Gideon whispered. “Harry married her, and we settled on a pretty little
homestead in Montana. Not far from Virginia City. We were happy.”
    “Life was good.” Harry nodded.
“But…”
    Amber reached around and
cupped his face in her left hand.
    “It ended badly. She
conceived. There were complications in childbirth.” Gideon’s   eyes filled with tears, and he bit his
lower lip.
    “I’m so sorry.” Amber
sighed. “The child?”
Gideon shook his head. “Both of them.”
    Amber pulled his head
towards her so that his forehead rested against hers, and she tightened her
hold on Harry.
    “You’ve been through so
much.”
    “And so have you?”
