all sides.
âNo!â everyone cried.
Don Donn stood beside Grizzlegore, smiling proudly.
âOh, Donn!â cried Lady Lobelia, beaming. âYou are my hero!â
â Gracias, Señorita ,â said Don Donn, kissing her hand again.
âUgh,â said Angus. âThis looks bad.â
Now the dragon turned to Don Donn. â Muchas gracias , Don Donn,â he said.
âYou speak Spanish?â said Don Donn, surprised.
âSÃ,â said Grizzlegore. âWhen youâve lived as long as I have, you speak everything.â He smiled. âAll my gold is yours, Don Donn. Take it.â
âGracias,â said Don Donn. âThank you. But it is not really your gold, is it?â
âIt is now,â said Grizzlegore. âAnd I give it all to you.â
âPor favor,â said Don Donn. âPlease. Give it back to the schools.â
Grizzlegore rolled his eyes. âAll right. I shall. But how can I repay you, Don Donn?â
âIâll help you think of something, Donn,â said Lobelia.
Before Don Donn could answer, a horse and rider appeared in the distance. Someone was riding toward DSA.
âWho could that be?â asked Wiglaf.
Erica squinted into the distance. âIt isâ¦Sir Lancelot!â she cried.
The once-perfect knight rode up to where everyone was gathered outside of DSA. His steed sagged badly under his weight. Yet something about Sir Lancelot looked different now. For one thing, he had managed to squeeze into his armor.
âOh, sir!â cried Erica. âHow good to see you mounted upon your steed once more!â
âThank you, lass,â he said.
âI wonder how glad his steed is of it,â murmured Janice.
âYou are in your armor, sir,â said Wiglaf. âHave you taken up the knightly life again?â
âI have,â said Sir Lancelot. âAnd I watched enough of the Uno! Dos! Tres! method to know what to do. Soon I will look like the perfect knight again.â
âWhat made you change your mind, sir?â asked Janice.
âIt was the aged knights,â said Sir Lancelot.
âShhh!â said Erica. âThe dragon thinks theyâre kids like us.â
âThey showed me that being the best is not as important as trying your best,â said Sir Lancelot.
âNow that sounds like Sir Lancelot!â cried Erica.
âI shall try my best to be a good knight,â said Sir Lancelot. âAnd I shall try my best to run Leon out of business and get my catalog going again.â
âOh, sir!â cried Erica, tears of joy springing to her eyes. âThank you!â
Sir Lancelot nodded. Then he picked up his reins and his steed hobbled off toward new adventures in the Dark Forest.
âGood-bye, sir!â cried Erica. âGood-bye!â
When Sir Lancelot was out of sight, Don Donn turned to the dragon.
â Señor Grizzlegore,â he said. âI have thought of a way you can repay me.â
âAnything,â said Grizzlegore.
âCome back with me to Ye Olde Home for Aged Knights,â said Don Donn. âYou can have the whole second floor of the castle.â
âThree meals a day?â said Grizzlegore.
Don Donn nodded.
âFresh linens on the bed every week?â said Grizzlegore.
âSÃ,â said Don Donn. âI will help you with your exercises. And in return, perhaps now and then you could spar with my aged knights. Let them feel the weight of the lance in their hands once more. Let them relive their glory days.â
âJust for show, right?â said Grizzlegore. âNo wounds.â
âNo wounds,â said Don Donn.
âAnd on cold winter evenings,â put in Sir Poodleduff, âwe can reciteâI mean they can reciteâyour poem.â
âComplete with dance steps!â added Sir Roger.
âItâs a deal!â cried Grizzlegore.
Now Grizzlegore turned to Mordred. âI shall
