" I can't believe," said Jasmine as the three of them walked to the library, "they put you on the brochure."
Ryan laughed. "I am the poster child for diversity at NMU, who would have guessed? The Dean loves having an out shifter on his staff, it makes them feel progressive."
Saylor squeezed his hand. It was fall semester, her senior year. Her best friend and her boyfriend/new roommate were walking to the library to study. Well, Jasmine and Saylor were going to study. Ryan was going to grade papers.
"What do you think," Saylor asked, "was it worth staying?"
Ryan held the door of the library open for Jasmine, sneaking a kiss as Saylor passed.
"I could have left the university," Ryan said. "I stayed for you."
"Ugh," said Jasmine, rolling her eyes with a smile. "The two of you are too cute. I feel like I should find my own teddy bear just so I can compete with the onslaught of adorable from Professor Sexy and the Teacher's Pet."
"I'd try it," said Ryan, smiling at Saylor. "It's definitely worth it."
Ryan slipped his arm around Saylor's waist and she grinned. It was going to be a good year.
