getting hurt. But my vision had been clouded. I’d never felt anything like the way I’d felt for Sofie back then. The way I still feel about her. The thought of how she would react if she ever found out about my arrangement with Renae scared me into wanting to do anything possible to make sure she wouldn’t find out. It had been the wrong decision… but it had taken her running away from me to realize it. Sofie is right. I deserve every ounce of the torture that she’s giving me. I did the crime, and now I have to do the time. But I can handle it. My cock has been calling the shots for years, but it’s time to show it who’s really in charge. If Sofie wants to torture me endlessly, then bring it. I can take whatever she has to give me. In a month, she’ll be taking everything I’m going to give her.
Chapter 13
Sofie
Aimee’s jaw drops open in complete surprise. She gapes at me for a few moments before she’s able to form words. “You can’t be serious…” she says. “Let me get this straight… First you make him promise that he can’t get off for a month—not even with himself—and then you make it even worse by trying to seduce him and get him all worked up?” The smile on my face spreads even wider. I give her a quick nod. “That sounds about right!” She shakes her head. “I can’t believe you, Sofe.” The incredulous look she shoots me seems out of place on her face. “On the one hand I’m proud, and on the other I’m scared for Calvin’s safety.” I let out a laugh. “Hey now, I’m not giving him anything he doesn’t deserve in the first place. And besides, it’s kind of fun getting to know him again. We’ve both changed a lot over the years and I don’t want to just jump into the physical stuff.” Aimee rolls her eyes. “You can keep all of that emotional nonsense… give me the hot, steamy sex.” She fixes me with a suggestive look. “And Calvin looks like the kind of guy who knows exactly what he’s doing.” She’s probably right. I probably am missing out on a good time. But there will be time for that in the future—once I’m certain that we really can make things work again. And besides, I don’t really want to think about Calvin knowing exactly what to do in bed. I don’t want to think about all of the practice he’s probably had since we were together. “How are things going with Logan, anyway?” I ask, changing the subject. “You’ve been spending a lot of time with him.” “It’s going fine,” she says, too quickly. I frown. “Anything you want to talk about?” She gets an uncertain look on her face. “No, it’s nothing like that. It’s just… I don’t know if I’m ready to be serious with anyone. That’s all…” I give her a playful smile and nudge her with my elbow. “So things are getting serious ?” This time her face nearly tightens into a cringe when she looks at me. “I don’t know. I guess. Relationships always just seem so…complicated.” It’s obvious she doesn’t want to talk about whatever is really bothering her. I’ve never seen her act this way about a guy before… she must really like him. But she’s an adult, I’m sure she’ll figure it all out sooner or later. “Well, if you ever want to talk about it…” She gives me an appreciative smile and nods. “Enough about me, I still want to hear about your steamy love life,” she says. My brow pinches together. “I already told you everything there is to hear…” She turns her head, giving me a sideways look. “Calvin isn’t who I had in mind… How are things going with the Office Hunk?” An uneasy ripple goes through my stomach when I think about Wade. “There isn’t anything going there,” I say. “I haven’t even heard from him since that night we went out.” “You mean the night he came back here?” she asks, still giving me that sly look. The uneasy feeling tightens. “I told you he’s a
