deserve it.
“After tonight, don’t even think about offering her a job.”
    “Too late.”
Now Marcus knew Daniel had lost his fucking mind.
“You’re the new job she has waiting for her?” His voice exploded.
“Don’t try and pull your Dom routine on me, pal, it won’t work. I don’t like being tied up and bossed around.”
    Marcus snorted in disgust.
Daniel continued in a more serious voice, “I won’t have her work directly for me. She’s a damn good assistant. I may be your best friend but I’m not a fool. She’s a good woman, and I’m not going to refuse to help her just to satisfy your inner caveman.”
“Just be at the house!” Slamming down the phone, Marcus stood up and began pacing his office.

Chapter Six

The drive to Marcus’ house was excruciating. Even the beautiful view through the car window failed to calm Carrie’s nerves. Her body was still in overdrive from their encounter at the office. As she’d prepared herself for him, she’d brought herself to orgasm in the shower out of sheer desperation. It still wasn’t enough. Driving down Telegraph Road, she felt every bump and groove in the asphalt. Tonight she would feel Marcus inside of her.
Five years of fantasy were about to come to life.
For the first five years she’d worked for him, Carrie had only thought of her boss in a professional manner. True, he was gorgeous in a rough sort of way. Not Hollywood handsome like his best friend Daniel, but very compelling, very commanding. During his messy divorce, when the city found out how Marcus enjoyed sex, a light bulb turned on in Carrie’s head. The bits and pieces of his sex life that were revealed had excited her almost unbearably. That’s when she had begun to look at her boss in a different light.
She’d begun to look at herself in a different light too. Carrie was determined to be a good submissive. She’d always felt a need deep in her soul, she just hadn’t been able to put a name to it. It was only after Marcus’ scandal that she realized there was a name for the feelings she was experiencing: sexual submission. This led her to exploring the world of Doms and subs through books and her computer. The word “Dominant”, she’d learned, was a blanket description for many levels of fetish play. Some people only wanted to be tied, some whipped hard.
Carrie knew that she could never delve into the darker side of BDSM. She couldn’t imagine he was into that kind of pain but if Marcus pushed her in a direction she didn’t want to go, she’d be out of there fast.
She’d gone out on a few dates with one self-proclaimed Dom but the chemistry just wasn’t there. He wanted a twenty-four-hour-a-day slave. Carrie didn’t fit into that category. She’d happily submit in the bedroom, but outside in the real world she expected to be treated as an equal. The way Marcus always treated her.
Marcus. It all came back to him, every fantasy and every desire. The truth was, Carrie could only picture herself submitting to him, and no other.
She flipped the air conditioner on as her body temperature climbed. Catching herself in the rearview mirror, she still couldn’t believe Marcus had actually blackmailed her into this weekend.
Gazing out the windshield, she enjoyed the view. It was a busy time of day, with men and women driving home to start their weekends. She wondered who among them felt the way she did. Which ones had lovers waiting at home for them to come through the door?

His house was incredible, Carrie thought, looking up at the two-story colonial. While it wasn’t as big as others in the neighborhood, it was stunning nonetheless. The red brick set off the black shutters and ornate wooden door. The landscaping was professionally done and called to mind an old-fashioned, formal garden.
She climbed the three stone steps to his door and gathered her nerve. She reached up to knock, and the door swung open before she even touched the wood.
    Marcus greeted her
