“Are you hungry?” Rhia glanced up to see Jorel standing in the doorway, a tray laden with food in his hands. He looked incredible, his hair pulled back at his nape, and his white shirt open almost to his navel, showing off a good portion of hard, enticing chest. Crossing her arms over her breasts, she glared at him without speaking. He smiled back.
“You don’t strike me as the type that would pout, Rhianna,” he said with a grin, and part of her heart melted at the boyish charm he exuded.
Determined to harden her heart, she looked away and stared at the far wall. Scents of cinnamon, spicy meat, and warm bread filled the room, and her stomach growled in response. She had no idea how long it had been since she’d eaten, and she was starving. She was also determined to not take anything from them. Especially after what they’d done to her earlier. Just remembering it made her pussy ache and her eyes closed on a tired groan.
“If you don’t keep your strength up, you won’t be able to continue with the escape attempts.”
She snorted and turned to snarl at him. “Like you want me to keep trying.”
“Actually,” he purred as he sat on the side of the bed and placed the tray across her lap,
“I enjoy how spontaneous and thoroughly unpredictable you are. It’s refreshing.”
“Refreshing?” she snapped. She tried to ignore the food, but it became increasingly difficult. It smelled so good and she was so hungry. Would it hurt to eat some of it? After all, she did need to keep her strength up. She planned to run again at the first available opportunity.
“Yes,” he said, flashing her a smile full of even white teeth. “As you can imagine…” he began. Leaning forward, he picked up the fork and stabbed it into a piece of fruit. He placed it before her tight-lipped mouth. “I don’t have a lot of women who resist me. The chase is turning out to be quite fun.”
She stared at him, her mouth clamped closed.

“Come on, beautiful. I like that little bit of meat on your bones. You’re curvy, fluffy, and quite a handful with those full breasts and hips.”
“I do not --” she stopped just as he slid the fork between her lips, surprising her.
She jerked away, her hand flying up to cover her mouth and wipe the little bit of juice that had dripped onto her chin. “Jerk,” she said around the bite as she chewed. “I’m not fluffy.”
The sweet taste of the fruit filled her mouth and she closed her eyes with a sigh, despite herself. When she opened them again, she found him watching her in fascination.
“What?” she growled. “Never seen a woman eat before?”
“Of course I have.” He shrugged and grabbed a piece of meat off her plate, plopping it into his mouth. “I’m just amazed at how you can turn chewing into something so damn sensual.”
“Let’s not go down that road again, okay?” she said warily as she grabbed the fork from his hand and began to dive into the food herself. If Jorel ate it, then it must be fine.
“I know you’re not a virgin,” he stated from out of nowhere and she stopped chewing to glance at him in surprise.
“No. I’m not. Does it bother you? That I’m soiled?” she asked snidely.
He snorted. “Normally, it would. But it doesn’t. You’re an exception, Rhianna. We must make allowances for you since you weren’t raised as a princess.” She rolled her eyes. “Aren’t you generous?”
He tilted his head and gave her a sideways grin. “You make my understanding sound like something terrible. Would you have preferred we flogged you for your lack of self-control?”
“Lack of self-control?” She gaped. “If I am your princess, then how was I to know to save myself for you?”
“You would have known that if your nanny hadn’t been killed.” With an unconcerned shrug, he again snatched food from her plate. She scowled and slapped at his hand, making him drop the bread he’d thought to steal. His gaze shot to
