shoulders, and my mouth again, while
holding my arms above me. “How does that feel?” he asked, licking the side of
my face before kissing me gently on the lips.
    “Oh,”
I said, blinking. I held my breath and slowly let it out. I wasn’t prepared for
that last soft kiss. It was so gentle, it surprised me. “I…”
    He
stopped me with another gentle kiss.
    I
shook my head. So gentle. So tender. So unexpected from a man as brutal as he
was, as powerful as he was.
    I
sighed, closing my eyes and smiling into him. ‘It feels so good, Xavier.”
    He
smiled at me, genuinely and happily. “I’m glad, my beauty,” he said, gently
touching my face before he surprised me again with a soft kiss.
    I
sighed and leaned into him as his arms came over me. “You surprise me, Xavier,”
I said smiling into his eyes. “I didn’t expect this of you.”
    “No
one does, no one has, my beauty,” he said. “Your sweetness, your gentleness…it
brought it out of me. I didn’t expect to be this way with you, too.”
    “Oh,
Xavier,” I said, snuggling into him as he spooned his body next to mine.
    He
rubbed my wrist, kissing them gently and licking them. “I’m sorry I hurt these
precious wrists,” he said. “But I didn’t want you to escape. I want you here,
with me.”
    “Xavier,”
I said, kissing his cheek. “If you had shown me kindness before, had talked to
me instead of trying to scare me, I would have stayed without having to be
tied.”
    “I
couldn’t take that chance,” he said, looking away. “I need you, and I can’t
have you trying to escape.”
    “Xavier,
Xavier,” I said, playfully tapping his nose with my finger and smiling. “What
am I going to do with you?”
    He
grabbed my finger and kissed it, pulling me on top of him while he hugged and
kissed me with such love and affection. “You’re going to be mine, that’s what,”
he said, hugging me tighter. “You’re going to be my woman, my lover, mine.”
This time he said it fiercely.
    I
smiled happily and hugged him tightly. “I…”
    I
couldn’t believe this was the same man that was threatening me with my life for
days. I couldn’t believe he truly felt that way about me. I barely knew him,
yet he acted like he’s known me for some time.
    There
came a loud knocking on the door.
    “Oh
for God’s sake, couldn’t she take a hint that I don’t want her here?” Xavier
groaned. “Do I have to physically toss her out?” He pulled my shirt back up,
covering my breast, kissed me tenderly, then hungrily, sucking my tongue with
his mouth and groaning when he had to pull away. “I’ll be right back, and when
I come back,” he said, “I’m going to make you forget every man who ever dared
touch you.” He kissed me hard before pulling away, groaning once again.
    I
couldn’t believe my eyes. He was a changed man, happier, more playful, even a
spring in his step. Could he have really fallen for me that fast or was he
playing me?
    The
mood changed instantly, though, when he came back into the room, carrying a
young man in his early 20s, who was bleeding and almost unconscious.
    “Quick,
clear the bed.” He laid the young man on the bed and looked over at me. “Can
you help him? Patch him up so he stops bleeding?”
    I
looked at the young man, who was now pale and ghostly white. He had lost a lot
of blood. A wound in his shoulder that was a clear hole through him. Then down
below, his kneecaps had been blown out with a gunshot wound.
    “I’m
going to need a sharp knife, a sewing kit, a burner or something that can get
the knife extra hot, and alcohol.”
    “What
are you going to do?” Xavier asked.
    “Surgery,”
I said. “I’m going to cut into him to his veins where it hasn’t stopped
bleeding and create a clot. If I don’t he may bleed to death. I also need to
have bags of blood to get some back into him. You know what type he is?”
    “He’s
the same as mine,” Xavier said.
    “How
do you know?” I asked. “For
