    The foursome had lunch at the large dining table that Connor had prepared. Gina had tried to help, but Connor insisted he could put some sandwiches and chips together. As it was, he set a stack of sliced bread, lunch meats, cheeses, and other condiments on the table and everyone put their own together. Jared continued to hold Nathan while he fed him since they didn’t have a high chair. By the time the meal was finished, Nathan’s little head was nodding off.
    Both men stood and Connor helped Gina up as if she was a fragile piece of porcelain. When she began to stack the plates from the table, he stopped her by taking her hand and escorting her to the master bedroom. The dark brown curtains that hung at the window were closed, blocking out most of the sunlight, more to preserve the material in the room rather than to keep it dark, but right now, it was fitting.
    Escorting her to the bed, he pulled the blankets down and plumped up one set of pillows. Turning back to her, he looped his forefingers into the belt loops on each side of her jeans and pulled her to him. He plunged his mouth down onto hers, his full lips covering hers.
