couldn’t have been a lie because she was standing next to him when he said it,” she said defensively.
    I laughed a little harder.
“Wouldn’t she have spoke up if it was a lie? I know I would’ve.”
I was still laughing when I pulled my fitted cap, wig and Marc Jacob shades off.
“Do you really want to know what that dirty white bitch was?” She had her arms folded and was tapping her foot, doing her best not to shed any more tears. “Everybody calls her Kim K. and until about a week ago she was my best friend.” I stepped closer and got in the bitch’s face so I could make her feel it. “Did you hear with I said? That dirty white bitch was my best friend.”
She looked everywhere but in my eyes. She backed up a couple of feet.
“The nigga that you’re so in love with and the white bitch you saw tried to kill me and leave me for the vultures.”
Her mouth dropped open as she just stared. I checked her ass out from head to toe. Adrienne was one of those petite bitches that was thick in all of the right places. She was naturally pretty with exotic features like me. Ivan hated those fake everything hoes. She wasn’t a street bitch like I was but we were both definitely bad bitches. We were even almost the same height. I wondered if Ivan fucked her in the same positions. The thought had me clenching my teeth just to control my anger.
“He pulled me to the side and said that you two had broken up and that we were finally going to be together,” she said sounding like she was trying to convince herself as well as me.
“Listen bitch, I don’t have time to be sugar coating shit. Those muthafuckas tried to kill me.”
“But why would they do that?”
“Because bitch they’re both some crazy, back-stabbing, grimy muthafuckas.” I walked up on her again. “Ivan is not who you think he is. That nigga will use you until he’s found the next best thing.” I had my hands on my hips as I snaked my neck. I got so close a couple of times we almost kissed.
“His triflin’ ass used me for six years. Then threw me away like we do a dirty tampon. The question is: how long before he decides he can’t squeeze anymore use out of yo ass?”
She stepped back, wiping at her tears and shaking her head.
“How do I know any of this is true? You could just be jealous. You could just be trying to get in my head.”
“Look bitch, I was really thinkin’ about killin’ yo ass. You’re a muthafuckin liability. You’re a scared bitch who could either turn into a witness for the cops or you could run yo mouth to Ivan.”
I wrote down my number on the little notepad and handed it to her.
“I’m goin to take a chance and leave you breathing when I walk out of here. That’s all the proof you need that what I’m sayin is valid. Call me if Ivan tries to get up with you.”
I put the wig, shades, and fitted cap back on and walked to the door.
“If you snitch to the cops or Ivan, you better hope they get to me before I get to you.” I walked out of there hoping that I gained an ally and not another enemy.

Chapter 8

The bumper to bumper traffic jam I was caught in had me nervous. I had my left hand on the steering wheel and my right hand clutching the nine millimeter. Niggas were stunting in fly whips all around me. They were honking their horns and hanging out of their windows and doing anything they could to bring attention to their expensive paint jobs and big chrome rims.
It was nothing but dro, bass pumping, and excitement in the air, with traffic backed up in both directions on Water Street. Everybody was in a rush to find a parking spot and get in line for Club 618. The hottest spot in the Mil if you were a young muthafucka looking to be in the middle of the action. There was a good chance for tempers to flare and bullets to fly when niggas got jammed up.
So I just made sure that I stayed on point until I found parking in a structure across the street. I tucked my strap underneath the seat
