Isabel said, grinning.
    “That’s two, but never mind. Ok, so catch me up. You were saying that he went down on you the first time you hooked up, but nothing else happened?”
    “Yup.”
    “What? That like never happens! So was he good?”
    “Amazing. It’s like he knew my body so well!”
    “An improvement on Jason, huh?”
    “Ha, yes,” Isabel laughed. “Definitely!”
    “And then what – how did you not have sex?”
    “I still don’t know. It was really weird. He was, like, obviously turned on, but he refused to take his pants off, and then just said “not tonight”.
    “Time of the month, obviously.” Kara winked lecherously, pulling out her chauvinistic male caricature.
    “It actually felt a bit like that.”
    “That’s so inexplicable. I mean, I can’t even offer any suggestions.” She brushed back her heavy, dark blonde hair. “Perhaps he was playing hard to get?”
    “I don’t know if I’ll ever know. Anyway, we went to sleep.” Isabel considered mentioning sleeping on the animal skins, but decided against it. Kara might not get it, and she didn’t want to spoil the memory by Kara making one of her sarcastic comments. “When I woke up the next morning, he wasn’t there, so I just got up and let myself out.”
    “Interesting.” Kara was pulling an ironic that’s so weird expression.
    “I didn’t hear from him that day, but the next day, he messaged me and we fixed a date at my place. But get this: we actually ended up going to the forest nearby, to this clearing where he had some camping equipment, and we had sex for the first time by the fire.”
    “Wow!” Kara’s mouth had fallen comically wide open. “God, that sounds so romantic!”
    “I don’t know about romantic, but it was hot. Super-hot actually!”
    “Reeeaaaally?” Kara purred, meaning I want to hear more, but I’m not going to do something as boring as ask you .
    “Actually kind of different. We only did it, you know, from behind.”
    “What, behind, behind?” Kara clicked her tongue and slapped herself on the ass.
    “No, not that! I mean, doggy style ,” Isabel finished in a whisper, hating the phrase.
    “Ah! So no face-to-face action at all? That’s hot. Like, really dirty!”
    “Yeah it was. I liked it!” Isabel said, her cheeks warming slightly. Kara propped her chin on her hand as she sprawled on her bed.
    “I’ve never had that with a guy before. It’s so animalistic .” Kara looked deeply impressed, which, considering her sexual history, said a lot.
    “Peter is a bit of an animal, it’s true,” Isabel said. “He’s huge and overbearing and he doesn’t say much, and he’s really in tune with nature, like he knows the forest really well.”
    “And you’re going to keep seeing him?”
    “Yes, absolutely – if he keeps having sex with me like that!” Kara threw her head back and cackled.
    “That’s my girl. So, this is a hook-up situation, right?” She squinted at the screen. “Because your eyes are telling me something different.”
    “All they’re telling you is that I had too many beers last night!” Isabel said and laughed.
    “What did you get up to?”
    “Just some beers in the town with randoms. It was fun – everyone’s really friendly around here.”
    “I can’t wait to see what it’s like! So, are we good for the weekend after next?”
    “You bet! I can’t wait to see you!”
    “Likewise, Chica,” Kara replied.
    “So, what’s new with you?”
    “Well, there’s currently a new dude in my bed, who I’ve abandoned to call my best friend. So, on that note, I should probably go and join him!”
    “Ok, I won’t deprive him any longer. Until next Friday,” Isabel said, and blew her a kiss. Kara pressed her lips against the screen, leaving a lip-balm imprint, and hit ‘end’.
