A my looked down at the
two men sucking on her breasts. Had anyone asked her this morning what her
plans were today, she would have never guessed that she was going to be letting
two adult men nurse from her.
Her day had started out
like every other; she had woken up, got ready, and started to fiddle around on
the Internet. Amy had been living a pretty sweet life; she was collecting
unemployment benefits, disability, child support, and food stamps all at the
same time, and wouldn't need to get a job for at least another year at this
rate.
Scrolling through her
Facebook and email, she looked to see if any of her friends had plans for
tonight. She had just got a benefit check as was looking for a way to blow it
through tonight.
As she composed a message
to one of her wilder friends, her email notification box popped up.
"Huh," she
said. This wasn't coming into her social email address, but the one she used for
official business like benefits and bank accounts.
It was titled
"Urgent, response required or a decision will be based on available
information."
"Oh fuck, more
bullshit to deal with," she said to herself as she clicked to open it.
She scanned it quickly at first, and then re-read it slowly making sure she
understood.
She had been served
notice, and would have to attend a reassessment today if she was going to keep
her benefits. It was already after 8:00 am so she was going to need to hurry
if she wanted to make it to the meeting at 10:00.
She printed the email and
tucked it into her purse before changing out of her pajamas and into what she
liked to call her "interview clothes."
She hasn't gone on a job
interview since she found out it was easier to let other people work, while she
just collected every penny she could from the programs available to a single
mom. And there were a lot of them.
She had given birth a few
months ago, and the baby was staying this week with his good for nothing
father. She knew that the baby took to the bottle easily so she wasn't
worried, as long as she kept her milk up until he was brought back.
She had been very careful
to make sure that the father didn't have the baby enough time so that her chilk
support payment would be reduced, she had always been shrewd like that and now
it was paying off.
After checking herself in
the mirror one last time, Amy headed out to her car. It wasn't technically hers,
really. The man who leased it for her better keep making the payments if he
wanted his wife to remain ignorant of the time they had hooked up. There was
no way she could afford it on her own; there was only so much she could take in
benefits without raising suspicions.
Amy felt a cold chill in
her stomach, was that was the meeting today was about? Was her gravy train
coming to an end? Would she, horrors of horrors, have to get a job and work
like a regular person?
Amy decided that no
matter what, she wasn't going to let that happen to her. She was better than
that, other people worked so she didn't have to.
Amy got in her car but
left the top up since it was still a little cold this early in the morning.
One of the things she had insisted her car bribe be is a convertible; the other
was that it was red. She had gotten both of course, it's not like he had any
choice.
Amy checked her phone as
