“Because he would draw me these pictures of roses after he would beat me and tell me he forgave me for my disobedience. The night he beat me before he started strangling me,  he drew one on the ceiling above me in my blood, so while he was strangling me I had to look at it as I died, it was the last thing I was supposed to see.”

“Well as I said to you over the phone, we think he may have killed a Max Wilcox. We found this drawn in his blood above where he was found.” Officer Johnson said as he showed Angyl the picture of the rose.

“Oh god, that’s the rose he draws, it's him.” Angyl said as she started crying again.

“I’m so sorry for this, but do you know of any family Mr. Wilcox has?”

“No. His parents died before I knew him, he lost his son about 5 years ago in a car accident, and his wife passed away about 2 years ago from a heart attack. He has no one left family wise that I knew of.”

“Did you know you are to inherit his book store and about half a million dollars?”

“Wwwhhhaaattt! No I didn’t know that.” Angyl stammered with her eyes looking shocked, she then started crying. Thinking about how sweet Max was and that she wished that she could pay him back even more for all his kindness towards her and her son. He had helped her and her son over the years more than she could ever show her appreciation to him, she just hoped that he knew how thankful she was before he died.

“Well thank you Angyl for your help. I will be in touch.” Detective Johnson replied.

“Please if there’s any way I can help let me know.” Angyl said honestly.

“You have helped already. Is the address from when your apartment was broken into correct for reaching you if we need to?”

         “Yes.”

“I will be in touch.” he said as Angyl walked out.

Detective Johnson crossed her off the suspect list after meeting with her. He knew that she was not the one responsible for any of this, he had the prison records stating she never went to see her ex, the only mail he got from her was through the courts informing him of his divorce. She didn’t know about the life insurance policy. He was sure considering that Mr. Wilcox went through an attorney with the instructions to not let her know until after his passing and even then he was to tell her in a video. Unfortunately he had a murder to solve, which he knew who had murdered him he just didn't know where David was. He knew that Angyl had no part in it other than her ex-husband wanting her. Which he had learned from papers left behind in David's prison cell, talking about how he was going to get even with her, and how she was going to be his wife again. Detective Johnson did know he was putting cops out to watch her for her and her sons safety. He just hoped it was enough.

Right after Angyl left, detective Johnson got a call about several murders in a neighborhood. It wasn't until he heard the addresses of these murders, that he realized it was in the same neighborhood that Angyl and David had lived in when they were married. He had a record of her moving and filing divorce right after she got out of the hospital. An abused woman's shelter helped her get into the place that she was in until recently. So now he was on the phone calling for people to be placed outside Ace's place until further notice. He hoped that they could catch her ex-husband before he got Angyl and harmed or killed.

Angyl and Ace got back to the house and ate their dinner, after she excused herself and went to her room. Nothing mattered to her right now she was so upset over Max dying that she just wanted to curl up in a ball and go to sleep, but she couldn't sleep so she was glancing out of her bedroom window, when she saw Ace heading towards the woods.
