something I’ve been holding back from you?”
Andrew had suspected as much. He hadn’t told Michael tonight, but he believed there was more to her tracking him down than a lead for a blog story and definitely more to her sticking around. He’d already given her enough information to keep a blog scheduled with continuing posts for a month. In turn, she had agreed to leave his name out of anything she wrote. He’d given her the exclusive, treated her to an interview he’d never given any other media source, and she’d given him her solemn promise to refer to him only as the Company Savior.
Andrew bit back a grin. “Touché.”
He watched in abstract fascination as she knocked back the remainder of her brandy. The beast inside him growled, his tongue pulsing with the urge to lick its way down the slender column of her throat. He wanted to taste her, to feast on every delectable inch of her smooth flesh.
“Just so you know,” she said as she moved to the coffee table and set the snifter down, “I didn’t do that for liquid courage.”
“I doubt there’s anything in the world you would feel the need to have liquid courage to pull off, sweetheart.” Andrew shot a pointed look at the discarded snifter. “I’ll get you some more if you want it.”
“I don’t.” Chrystal started back toward him, each step slow and calculated as if she were a panther sneaking up on her prey.
Andrew didn’t move. He wasn’t sure he could. Visions of Rebecca overlaid the woman approaching him, combining into one and ratcheting his testosterone level to the moon. His attention dropped to her feet clad in three-inch navy stilettos. His heart rate climbed with his gaze as his focus glided up her bare legs, skipped over her black skirt, continued to her full breasts, and finally settled on her eyes.
Desire turned their mocha color to dark chocolate. Clear intentions and heated promises swirled in the depths of her gaze. A bead of sweat broke out on his chest, trickled down his torso, and collected at the waistband of his jeans. His cock strained against his zipper, the engorged head pressing insistently at the denim as if attempting to break through the barrier.
“I finished that off quick for a reason. I didn’t want to waste such a fine brandy. However, I did want my hands free.” Her voice had dropped to a whispering purr as she invaded his personal space. Her hardened nipples jutted through the material of her bra and blouse to poke at his chest with each even breath she took. “What do you say we table our secret confessions until sometime tomorrow and enjoy what’s left of tonight together?”

Chrystal’s heart hammered against her breastbone as she dared to touch Andrew. She lifted a finger, traced the line of his jaw with her fingernail, and watched as an inferno lit in his eyes, outlining the hazel with a thin ring of gold.
The sight should have sent fear racing through her. She knew the signs even if she didn’t possess the ability to sense them. She had already begun to believe he was more than mere human. The presence of that golden ring in his gaze proved her right. Doing the horizontal mambo with Andrew would mean more than having sex with a man. She would be giving herself to a lycan, playing with a beast she had to trust to maintain his control.
    We need him, Chrysie.
She heard her father’s words once more, the plea that had been in his voice, and knew them to be only a memory. Her father didn’t possess the power to speak in her mind, not when they were face-to-face and certainly not from several states away. She had held onto those words, filed them away in her memory, and had been using them to keep herself on track since the moment she’d stepped off the plane in the Florida Keys.
Yes, father. I know, she thought even though her father wouldn’t hear her. They needed Andrew more than a way to help save their business. If they had any hope at all of rescuing her cousin, they
