that.”
“Oh, I’m starting to think that I am. But like I said sweetie you don’t have to worry about me opening my mouth about anything. When you’re ready to go public I will be right there. I support you and I am hoping to help keep you on track. That way, from now on, people can only say good things about you.”
“What did I ever do to deserve you?”
“Well, you kicked me in my knee when we were younger and told me that I was going to be your best friend after only knowing me for about a minute so I mean I was kind of already hooked on you.”
“I remember that. I was determined to call dibs on you before the Harmon girls got their claws in you and turned you into their clone.”
I burst into laughter. “They weren’t that bad.”
He rolls his eyes. “Everyone who hung out with them dressed and talked just like them.”
“Yeah, well I guess you’re right about that. But I have a question, Rhett.”
    “Ask away.”
“If you’re so nervous about what the investors will do if they find out that we’re dating and what your Mom thinks, then why are you even bothering to give us a chance at all?”
“Because you make me happy. You make me feel complete. You give me the motivation I need to keep going in this business. I… With you here, I don’t feel lonely. The great big hole in my life feels full. I don’t want to lose you, but I also want to bring something to the table and I have to keep this in the box for now so that I’m able to do that.”
“You know money doesn’t mean all that much to me. I’ve learned to live without much of it.”
“Yes, you have but I still want to give you the world Jessica. Just let me do this my way?”
    “Okay.”
“Now how about we continue to do a lot more of what we were doing last night?”
    “Oh yes please…”

Chapter 11

Two days later, Rhett asked me to meet him at his house dressed in something casual, so I decided to wear some black leggings, a silver glittery shirt, and some silver ballet shoes.
The look says casual but sexy.
I have no idea what he had planned since he never told me to dress a certain way before but I’m glad.
I like surprises and I have a feeling this may be a good one.
I tap in the code to Rhett’s penthouse and go inside. He’s sitting on the chair dressed in some black jean pants and a white shirt. He looks super sexy in casual wear and I can definitely get used to seeing him like this.
“Don’t you look handsome?” I say as I kiss him on the lips.
“And don’t you look good enough to eat?” he says with a laugh.
“So where are we going? Why did I have to dress casual?”
“We are going on a date.”
A confuse expression crosses my face. “What? I thought that you didn’t want anyone to know that we were dating?”
He shrugs. “I have money; it’ll be discreet. There’s this nice soul food restaurant in town that I want to take you to. I bought out the whole place for tonight and the owner doesn’t open his mouth about anything. It’ll be fun.”
A smile slowly spreads across my face and I jump into his arms. “Wow! I think I know what you’re talking about. I’ve heard of that restaurant but never really got the chance to try it out. Besides, I wouldn’t have had anyone to go with me in the first place.”
“Well, now you have me and trust me it will be everything you have heard about and so much more.”
I laugh. “Well, take me to the restaurant, sir.”
He laughs and takes my hand into his.
We take his Bentley to the restaurant; the car is so nice that I think I would prefer to sleep on the back seat rather than in my bed. We pull into the back of the restaurant and Rhett rushes to my side of the car to open the door for me.
“You’re a princess and you should be treated like one,” he says.
I blush as I place my and into his and follow him inside of the restaurant.
Once inside I open my mouth in
