energy I had left, to grab my underwear and slide them back on.  I was in no state to get up but I could still think enough to know I didn’t want to be found completely naked.  I heard voices at the door as Jimmy stormed out of the room.  A second after he had slammed the door shut, it flung back open and I could hear someone in the room next to me and I was lifted up.  I put my arms around the person’s neck and looked up.  Jake—my hero and I closed my eyes knowing that I was safe.
I woke up and I was wrapped in a blanket in the back of Jake’s car.  He was driving and we were heading home.  I didn’t have the strength to say anything and my head was pounding so I closed my eyes and waited for the pain to go away.
I felt Jake lifting me out of the car and into the house.  He was carrying me up the stairs and into the bathroom.  He sat me in the shower and I opened my eyes and looked at him.  I was delirious.
“You saved me.”  I stroked his face.
He smiled quickly and then went back to his serious face.
    “Why so serious Mr Serious?”
“I told you this would happen.  Why did you get so drunk?  Have you drank alcohol before?”
“You ask a lot of questions Mr. Serious.”
“Oh Victoria.”  His voice was calmer now and he turned on the shower tap.
“My mom drank a lot and I looked after her.  I remember cleaning her hair once because she vomited in it.”
“Yeah like I’m doing now?”  He laughed.
    “What? I didn’t vomit! I didn’t even drink anything!” I protested.
Gosh, I am sooo funny sometimes.  He just laughed and started cleaning my hair.  I slowly took off my bra.  Did I mention I wasn’t thinking straight?
    “Wh...What are you doing, Victoria?”
“I don’t want to get my clothes wet.”  I said and awkwardly slid my underwear down.
    He didn’t stop me.
“Even with vomit in your hair, I still find you incredibly attractive missy.”
He liked me.  He totally liked me.

    Jake
I placed her in her bed with her pyjamas on and went to leave the room.  She grabbed my hand.
    “Stay.  Please stay.”
I didn’t say anything.  I just turned around and slid in behind her.  I wrapped my arms around her and before I knew it we had both fallen asleep.

I woke up around 4am.  Victoria had rolled over and we were now facing each other.  She was so beautiful.  I held my hand out and touched her cheek and she slowly opened her eyes and smiled.  It wasn’t my intention to wake her but I wasn’t complaining.
“What are you doing in my bed, Jake?”  She was still half asleep.
“You really scared me you know?”
“I’m sorry.  It’s your fault you know?”
    “What? What do you mean?”
“I had to keep up with you and Tanya.”  She laughed.
“Victoria, I would hate it if you could keep up with Tanya.”
    She rolled her eyes.
“I’m serious.  I think that’s why I can’t stick with any of these girls.  They just aren’t the right ones.”
“And what kind of girl is the right one then?”
I didn’t know what to do with this question; keep playing games or be honest.  I guess if girls like Tanya liked games then maybe Victoria liked honesty.
    “I dunno…You.”
My heart dropped readying myself for her response.
“I bet you say that to all the girls.”
Oh no, she thought I was some sort of player.  I guess I couldn’t blame her though.  I am a player, well I was up until now.  I’d never felt so strongly about someone before.  Victoria was smart, beautiful, funny, hot as hell, and she made me want to treat her like she deserved.
    “I mean it, Victoria.”
I could tell she still was unsure about me.  And fair enough.  I liked that she questioned my character, hell I was even questioning my character.  I’m going to be different now though, I just didn’t know what I’d been missing.
Victoria reached out and grazed her fingers over my lips and my heart started beating faster.  I grabbed her hand, and
