hug, and got up to leave the room.
“ Christy, you know what I will and will not tolerate so I expect you to show Lexi the ropes.”
“ OK, momma.” Christy hugged her mother and left the room as well. She closed her mother’s door and looked at Lexi. “We have to be more careful from now on. Momma let us get off easy this time,” she whispered.
Lexi rolled her eyes. “You’re a rookie. I got this.”
Christy felt offended. She had always been the good girl because she didn’t want Elizabeth to get tired of her and give her away like her mother did. She knew her sisters had done a lot of bad shit, but she also knew her mother had to deal with them because they were her children. She was tired of being good. She was ready to show Lexi just how down she could be.

    Chapter 6

It was a week after Lexi had moved in. Her and Christy walked to the store on MacAuthor Blvd.
“ Damn, you a fine lil’ chocolate thang. Why I ain’t seen you around here before?” Meech asked. He was the leader of the pack of boys that stood in front of the store and you could tell. He was a caramel complexion, about five feet ten, and had jewels and gold that let Lexi know he was the boss.
Lexi rolled her eyes. It seemed her skin color automatically gave everyone the right to call her chocolate or something or the sorts. “I just moved here with my aunt and cousin,” Lexi said in a sassy tone.
“ You need to let me be your man. I can show you the world.”
Lexi decided to switch her game plan and play with him. “You can?” Lexi asked with the same innocent eyes she had used on Bank Roll years ago.
“ How old are you, lil’ sexy?”
    “ Fourteen,” she said shyly.
“ You need to get on my team.” Meech looked her up and down. She looked exotic to him.
Lexi shrugged her shoulders as she smiled. “I’ll think about it, cutie.”
While Lexi played her coy game with Meech, Christy talked to Buck, a guy she had been fucking for a few months. He looked dirty. He was five feet five and was stocky. His braids looked like they were past the point of needing to be done, and his clothes didn’t look as fresh as the other corner boys. That didn’t matter to Christy, though. She wanted someone to love her and every time a boy showed any kind of interest, she gave him pussy. She was short and stubby. Although she had new clothes and kept her hair and nails done, all she ever seemed good enough for was a late night creep. No one wanted to make Christy their main girl, and take her out on dates and buy her gifts.
“ How long your cousin gonna be around? She gonna be cock blocking?” Buck asked as she freely roamed Christy’s body on the busy street.
Christy giggled. The only time she felt sexy was when a boy talked to her. Any boy. “She not blocking nothing. She cool.”
“ Call me later. We need to make a run.” He tried to look important as he looked toward Meech. “Meech, we got that thang to do.”
Meech looked at Buck and nodded his head. “Look, baby girl, I gotta make some moves.”
Lexi froze for a moment. Baby girl was what Bank Roll always called her. She took a deep breath, put on her game face, and quickly gained her composure. “That’s cool, daddy. I understand when a man has to make moves.”
    “ What’s your cell number?”
“ I don’t have one. Just call my cousin or something. You gonna call, right?”
Meech’s head was gassed up from Lexi. “Imma come through tomorrow with something for you.”
“ I’ll be waiting.” Meech and Buck jumped in the gold Mercedes and rolled out. “Please, tell me you not fucking that dirty looking nigga,” Lexi said as they walked in the store.
    “ He not…Buck cool.”
Lexi frowned. “Ugh, so you are fucking him? I hella hope I just caught him on a bad day. How much money he give you?”
    Christy laughed. “Ahh…Lexi, bitch, I been…these niggas know…”
Lexi raised her hand. “Just save that shit. You ready to roll
