    TEASING THE TYCOON

CHAPTER ONE
    “T hat red dress
fits you well.”
    Marilyn paused in
the fresh produce aisle, the bag of baby carrots in her hand, and turned to
regard the man who had uttered the words.  “Are you talking to me?” 
    He gave her a slow,
almost seductive smile.  “Well, I don’t see anyone else in a red dress.”
    For a moment she
didn’t respond, simply staring at him, taking him in.  He was a looker, that
she could not deny, with raven-black hair that curled at his nape, steel-gray
eyes that looked like they’d melt her bones and a six o’clock shadow that made
him look sexy as sin.  Finally, she spoke.  “Do you know who I am?”
    “I certainly do,”
he drawled.  “A most beautiful woman in a hot red dress.  One I've had the
pleasure of seeing a few times at the gym.”
    Marilyn blushed. 
She couldn’t help it.  He was good.  Damn good.
    But this was going
nowhere.  She knew that so all she did was nod her head.  Then she gave him a
bold stare.  “Don’t aspire for what you can’t handle.”  And with that she
turned and headed for the cashier.
    On her way out of
the supermarket Marilyn couldn’t help but look back but her arrogant admirer
was nowhere to be seen.
    At the car she
stole a glance at herself in the tinted glass of the side window.  Had she
really looked that good?  She couldn’t deny that it felt good to have an
unexpected admirer, in the produce aisle at that.  Even after she’d put the
bags in the trunk and gotten into the car, for several more moments she sat in
the driver’s seat staring through the windshield, then a rude smile crept onto
her face.  No, she wouldn’t go there.  With a shake of her head she turned the
key in the ignition.
    But on her way home
Marilyn’s mind continued to replay the conversation like an old tape recorder. 
To her surprise she found herself intrigued by the six foot plus, chisel-faced
