goes along with getting caught.
Unlike ‘real time’ where families and reputations suffered when secrets are revealed; virtually they could meet the craving and no one would know.
I had stumbled across a gold mine and I had every intention of getting rich…
Boss Chapter One
Amanda
I made my way into my boss’s office to translate, he barely even looked up to acknowledge me; just started jabbering like he does. I don’t think that I have met a more pompous ass in my life. He has to be the definition of ‘bastard’ to a fault.
He is arrogant, cocky, confident and gorgeous . His sole purpose in life lately seems to be making me uncomfortable.
Ironically enough, I wouldn’t give him the time of day if I was single.
“Amanda!”
His voice cut through the air like razors bringing me back from my though t process of what a dick he is.
I look ed up only to see him ‘shoo’ me away.
Did he seriously just do that?
I got up fumbling and dropping my pen in the floor due to embarrassment.
“Pompous ass,” I whispered under my breath.
“Excuse me, Amanda?”
“Oh nothing Sir, I just dropped my pen.”
“You would do well to call me Sir; at all times young lady.”
Would you like me to bend down and kiss your Italian leather shoes while I’m at it?
I chuckled as she left; making sure to let her hear me. I heard her call me a pompous ass. Maybe she was right to a certain extent. I really don’t care what she thinks about me. I have plans for Amanda and her opinion of me is in no way going to sway them. Amanda is used to getting her way and I don’t permit her to in my presence. Her petulance will no way deter me from what I have in store for her.
Oh yes, I have plans for Amanda …
The little bitch tried to swindle m e out of my company so if she is looking for mercy, she isn’t getting any from me.
Chapter Two
I sat at my makeup table getting ready for work as I listened to my husband mandate orders.
It isn’ t that he is a bad guy; it’s just that we work together so basically he is my boss.
It’s the reason that I got a job, to get away from my boss; not that the other one is any better.
Well actually , if I was to be perfectly honest, I had tried to swindle my boss out of some money and he forced me to work for him.
“Amanda, you know that you have TV sh oots Sunday, right?
I need you to be there Amanda. I don’t want to feel like me letting you get this job is getting in the way of your media work.
You do know that we have fans that watch because of you; right?”
I turned around already exasperated. “John, when have I ever not made a TV shoot?”
“You’ve never had a job before, Amanda.”
“John, go away.”
“No Amanda, that is just rude.”
“Go away John, I’m not playin g.”
John decided that maybe leaving might be in his best interest. He could always harp later.
I let my mind wander as I finished the task of getting ready. I had married John for stability, but like so many other marriages it had gotten downright boring.
Getting a job had been my way of just getting away and doing something that was mine. Everything that I had , and everything that I did, was connected to John.
We had started doing a local TV show seventeen years ago and needless to say; we were now local celebrities. I just needed something of mine. I had to stop this vicious ground hog day cycle; or that is what I had told John. I couldn’t very well tell him that my boss caught me embezzling money, now could I?
