Let me just say I am falling in love with Lauren Blakely.
She had me on my knees with Sweet Sinful Nights I simply adored everything about that book. The way she writes is powerful, demanding, intriguing and hot as hell. Sometimes I wonder where do people like her get their imagination and inspiration to write these awesome stories, but then again it doesn’t matter as long as they keep writing 🙂
About the book:
Sinful Desire is mainly about Shannon’s brother Ryan Sloan. He is still trying to find out if their mother is innocent for the murder of their father like she keeps claiming. He is trying his best to find out why the case has been reopened now after 18 years, what new is there to base the new case of?
But the main story here is His and Sophie’s relationship. I have read many books with leading males as dominants but let me tell you Ryan surprised the heck out of me. He is sweet as sugar, but when darkness falls and curtains closes he transforms into this incredible, powerful demanding man that knows who he wants, what he wants from that person and exactly how he wants it.
My review:
This book is very interesting and intriguing with all the mystery about their family’s past which I love in a good book. And all the hot and sensual sex scenes are off the charts!!! And when all these sexual encounters that were not supposed to mean anything turn into a true love story makes it even sweeter 🙂 I can’t say I loved it as much as book one Sweet Sinful Nights but it was pretty near. I really like the way Lauren writes, you can see it’s not written by a beginner but it’s still an easy going reading which I appreciate.

OH. MY. GOD. LAUREN YOU ARE THE QUEEN OF UNEXPECTED CLIFFHANGERS!
OMG This book was pure perfection. The plot had the ideal balance between romance, suspense, secondary characters, and K-I-N-K! Oh yes, it has kink, super scorching, toes-curling, squrming and surprisingly HOT KINK! And of course, Lauren’s writing is superb, as always. That’s why she’s one of my favorite authors, because she has the best plotting mind, with the greatest talent to write them into amazing hot stories.
This is the second book of the Sinful Nights series, the story of Ryan Sloan and Sophie Winston. When they met, they had that crazy instant attraction that they couldn’t help but to act on it. It was HOT, and it was awesome this thing that started as a just let’s have sex and good bye, became into something special and beautiful, and it also got hotter with every time they made love. – I will have to say there was one specific moment that OMG had me nervously laughing and … yeah, exactly what you are thinking, it was SULTRY.- But that wasn’t an easy journey for either of them. Ryan had to fight demons from the past and the present, in order to open up for Sophie. And for Sophie it wasn’t easy either, because she’s been always a strong, independant and very confident woman, and falling in love with a man like Ryan made her question herself in some occasions. But they both were so perfect for each other. They were what each other needed, in so many ways: She understood him, she never judged him and the most beautiful was that she loved him deeply and truly; And Ryan gave her everything she ever wanted and needed, even without her asking for it. Their love was selfless and beautiful.
I loved the Sloan family moments in this book. It made me cry and laugh and love them all more and more. Grandma gave the best advices, and only based on a peach pie. Colin, OMG Colin, I’m so sure I’ll love him the most of all the Sloan Brothers. He has that easy, cool, funny, sexy thing that I love in men, and he is so wise. Michael is the toughest of them all, and he was right at the end of the day. And Shannon and Brent (they come as a pack now) it was so awesome to read about them. I just love them, I couldn’t help but to smile every time I read their names in this book.
*HUG SIGH* And the murder case! WOW! I’m just in awe! Lauren is the mastermind of the best unexpected cliffhangers in the history of cliffhangers! Thank GOD they are the good kind, because Ryan and Sophie had their HEA in this book, but the story continues with the whole murder case, plus a huge addition that will leave you on the edge of the chair when you finish this book.

VIVIAN’S BOOK REVIEW: 5+++ STARS
Plot/Storyline- 5. Flirtatious. Intense. Sensual. Naughty. Kinky. Mysterious. Adorable. Captivating. Those are just SOME of the descriptive words I would use for this book. Everything about Ryan and Sophie’s story worked! The storyline ran so perfectly. Nothing about their story felt forced or out of place. There were PLENTY of sexy scenes *wink*, but they weren’t overdone or artificial…every scene was necessary and needed to add to their story and the development of their relationship.
This was the perfect continuation of the Sinful Nights series…you still have the mystery in the background of “Did Dora Prince (Michael, Ryan, Colin and Shannon’s mom) hire someone to kill their dad???” I love that Lauren didn’t necessarily make this the focal point of the story, but more of the “backdrop”. There was enough of vagueness about everything surrounding that part of the story, that the reader still has the element of mystery surrounding the Prince family, but the main focus was Ryan and Sophie and how their relationship grows in spite of that unknown factor.
Oh. My. GAWD…THAT CLIFFHANGER ENDING! I am beginning to think that Lauren has a thing with teasing us with these cliffhanger endings! First Sweet Sinful Nights and now Sinful Desire….killing me! I need Sinful Longing like yesterday!
Characters- 5. Multifaceted. Developed. Unique. Perfect for each other. Ryan Sloane and Sophie Winston are each other’s puzzle pieces…they fit perfectly together. They complete each other. You know that saying “Opposites attract”….THAT’S them. Ryan is a man that needs to have control. “I like to be in control.” –Ryan. Due to life experiences and lack of control and stability in certain areas of his life, he strives for control in all other aspects of life and one of those aspects is he likes control in the bedroom *wink*. Sophie on the other hand, craves the freedom of giving up control. She is a self made woman, who has had an immense amount of good fortune in her life due to her intelligence. She willingly donates her time and money to charities and people and is pulled in every which direction, as a result, her mind is ALWAYS working and she just wants to “shut it off”. She longed to find a man that could take that control away from her and allow her to “not think”. “She wanted a man to command her.” –Sophie. You see how perfect they are for each other?
Book Boyfriend Material- 10 *wink*. There is no question, he is most definitely BBF material! “Ryan was an enticing mix of enigmatic and open, of caveman and gentleman.” – Sophie. He is everything that Sophie has been looking for in a man, and then some. He is controlling, sexy, naughty, commanding, patient, bold, loving…gosh I could go on and on.
Book Girlfriend Material- 5+. “Glamorous. Sultry. Voluptuous. Ryan’s fantasy woman.” – Ryan. I loved Sophie’s boldness and directness, but yet her innocence was adorable too. She is such an open, loving, and honest woman that I, much like Ryan, found myself spellbound by her. She is the complete package for Ryan ❤
Writing Style-5.
Steam Factor- 5. I. Could. Not. Put. This. Book. DOWN! I loved every minute of it! Like I stated above, every scene was relevant and added to the story one way or another. Nothing about it was forced or out of place. I kept telling myself “One more chapter!” and of course I just couldn’t find the “perfect” place to stop reading, so most nights I would read until I would fall asleep with the kindle laying next to me lol.
Overall- 5 +++ Stars!!! Lauren Blakely truly outdid herself with this book. I have now read 3 of her books and this one by far is my all time favorite.
