From the New York Times bestselling author of the Fall Away series who never fails to deliver a “powerfully written contemporary love story…”*
Former tennis player Easton Bradbury is trying to be the best teacher she can be, trying to reach her bored students and trying to forget her past. What brought her to this stage in her life isn’t important. She can’t let it be. But now one parent-teacher meeting may be her undoing…
Meeting Tyler Marek for the first time makes it easy for Easton to see why his son is having trouble in school. The man knows how to manage businesses and wealth, not a teenage boy. Or a young teacher, for that matter, though he tries to. And yet…there is something about him that draws Easton in—a hint of vulnerability, a flash of attraction, a spark that might burn.
Wanting him is taboo. Needing him is undeniable. And his long-awaited touch will weaken Easton’s resolve—and reveal what should stay hidden…

Carolin’s Book Review: 4 stars
“Misconduct” is the story of Easton and Tyler. The former Tennis player Easton has just started working as a teacher, when she meets Tyler, the father of one of her students. At that time she doesn’t know yet, who he is and that he is forbidden…
It’s best to start this book with as few information as possible, hence my vague description. The story unfolds beautifully and you have to just experience it. “Misconduct” was a big surprise for me – Penelope Douglas showed that she has matured and that made for a great, emotional read but without unnecessary drama. The writing was completely different from everything I’ve read from Douglas so far, the maturity of this book showed in her writing, too. After the first two chapters, I even closed the book to check I didn’t mix up the authors…
The book is preliminary a romance. But also a story about compensating bad experiences in your life – and ultimately a book about family.
Even though I enjoyed the book, I did have a problem with the pace of the story. It was too slow for my personal taste. Maybe it was, because I anticipated a bit more drama from this author – simply because I’m used to it and love it. But in the end, everything fit together perfectly. Maybe an extended epilogue would have been great, but that’s only my opinion. But the biggest problem for me was, that I never saw this as a forbidden romance. Yes, the teacher/parent relationship isn’t too appreciated by society and yes, there was a gap in age of 13 years between the two MC’s. But this whole forbidden aspect was solved too fast IMO and made the book to one I’ve read in this manner already a dozen times before.
All in all, I rate “Misconduct” with 4 stars and can recommend it to everyone who loves romance.

Claudia’s Book Review: 5+++ stars
Since I read Bully there is no book from Penelope Douglas that I won’t read, she is a “must read” kind of author. Misconduct is for sure one of my favorites read from this year. This is a stand alone book and very different from her previous books, now she gave us older characters and a forbidden love. This is a teacher romance, but not the typical one with a student, but with is a parent. The spectacular writing, captivating story, provocative, steamy and full of passion scenes made me love the book since the very first chapter, and made me fall for the heroine as much as for the hero, my hero, my Tyler. Yes! he is now MINE!!!
As soon as Tyler Marek set his eyes on Easton Bradbury, he knew she was one of the things he wants on his life, their first encounter was exciting. They flirt, they tease and even though their bodies were begging for more, the encounter was too damn short and they never get to really knew each other…
“There will be nothing holding me back when we run into each other again.”
….And then run into each other on his son’s classroom, Easton is his US History teacher, Neither Tyler nor Easton can’t believe that the person they were fantasising with was now forbidden.
“Easton was a woman I’d wanted in my bed, but Ms. Bradbury was off limits. The lines were there, clear as day, and not to be breached.”
They’re playing with fire, this secret affair may cause both of them to destroy their careers and for Tyler to lost his son for good. But this is more than a simple affair, the chemistry between them is undeniable and ready to combust, despite both of them trying to convince themselves that this a short term relationship, they eventually realized that they can’t imagine a life without each other, and Tyler will have to decide what is more important in life, and realise which are his priorities
“You can do a couple things and succeed,or you can try to do fifteen things and fail at all of them.”
I highly recommend you this book, this is an ABSOLUTE MUST READ, I’m so excited about this book that I’d love that everyone read it and love it as much as I do, you will thank me later.
“The truth was, you’re happier when you’re needed and stronger when you’re loved.”
