Jenn’s Audiobook Review: 4 stars
Two lost souls find each other and try to heal their wounds with their lust and love for one another. Hayden is this hotter than fire itself tattoo guy with a mystery over him. Girls are on him like bees on honey, but he couldn’t care less, until Tenley comes into his life and eventually his heart. The problem is that Tenley has her own secrets and hidden past that is causing her pain and not allowing her to move forward with her life.
First thing I’ve read from Helena Hunting was her AMAZING AWESOME HILARIOUS Pucked series Which is full of comedy, cuteness, great developed characters and hoooooooooot sex 😉 So this one was completely different writing style and story plot than what I was expecting. But it only proves one thing and one thing only, the authors who pull this off and still keep their fans has succeeded and should be more than proud. A great writer can switch styles and write everything about anything. Helena is definitely one of them according to me.
I am a true drama queen that needs suspense, tension, love all the elements thrown at me at once to be truly satisfied so this book was a bit harder to get into at the beginning. But as the story continued to develop and secrets revealed, hidden wounds and scars were shown my interest only increased more and more.
Just as I started to feel at ease and cheer for Hayden and Tenley happily ever after than BOOOOOM! Happiness had to step aside when past came back to haunt and test them once again.
About the narrators:
Jason Carpenter and Elizabeth Louise did a great job. I simply love these two and the way they narrated this book was so good, alive and believable. When I closed my eyes and let the book overtake my senses it felt like I was their invisible live audience. Looking forward to see how they take on book 2 Inked Armor which is very promising. A job well done and high five to Jason and Elizabeth!

Angy’s Audiobook Review: 5+++ stars
SO MANY FEELS!
Oh. My. God. Hayden and Tenley are just so absolutely broken and perfect for each other. I loved this book the first time I read it, and now I love it even more. I always wanted to re-read/re-listen to it, but never had the chance—yeah yeah, I know I always complain about the same thing, but seriously, squeezing the blog schedule is so damn hard, especially to read such a heart breaking book like Clipped Wings, and of course the rest of the series. But after making some arrangements and decisions, I finally could start with it. What a perfect way to start the year.
Clipped Wings is a story about redemption and salvation. After losing almost everything, Tenley moved to Chicago to start a new life, but she never knew she’d met Hayden, the tattoo artist who worked across the street and that would change her life, and his, forever. They found salvation and redemption in each other, they found love and safety, they found a new reason to fight for. But things weren’t easy for them and a person from Tenley’s past came to take everything from them. To know what happens, you need to read this amazing book.
I love everything about this book. I love Helena’s writing. The description are so beautiful, I almost saw Tenley’s art design in my head while reading it, and when she was describing Hayden’s tattoos, I could totally saw them in my head as well. And of course the development of the characters was perfection. What I loved about repeating this book was that I could fall in love with them all over again. Their hearts and souls are so broken and beautiful I almost wanted to get them out of the book and hold them forever.
And what I loved the most about Clipped Wings was how Tenley and Hayden’s relationship developed. They were impulsive and obsessive, needy and insecure, protective and passionate! They were perfect for each other, period. PERFECT! I never imagined being so affected by the events at the end of this book while repeating it since I read it already, but all the feelings were there, the heartache, the sadness, the anxiety, everything I felt the first time, I felt it all over again. I’m going to start rereading Inked Armor soon, and feel everything all over again.
Jason Carpenter and Elizabeth Louise did an outstanding performance with Clipped Wings. Jason has the perfect voice that matches Hayden’s personality. He translated the anger, the possessiveness and badassery from Hayden in every word he read in this book. While Elizabeth was so sweet and vulnerable in her narration, just like Tenley was. And of course, the sex scenes were crazy hot! The audiobook was a great companion for the book.
Overall, great book, great story, huge cliffhanger and massive heartbroke. 100% recommended. Now, go read it you haven’t, and if you do, go repeat it. Hayden, Tenley and TK miss you! <3
