Born into blood, I was a mafia princess. Raised in hiding, I was a Californian sweetheart.

The day my father sold my thirteen year old body to pay off a five year old debt was the day my mother stole me in the dead of night. She protected me as she was supposed to.

My father may have been the king, but my mother was the queen.

The mafia blood was hers.

That was ten years ago. Now… the devil was on the loose.

Carlo ‘Hunter’ Rosso was my father’s right hand man and the boy I’d loved since I could tie my own shoelaces. He was always the most ruthless and the most deadly of all the children.

He’d thought I was dead until the day his assignment was given: Kill Adriana and Alexandria Romano. Kill the princess, and definitely kill the queen.

What he didn’t know was that the queen was dead, and the princess had taken her throne.

Blood didn’t lie. It smeared, distorted, stained. But it didn’t lie.

My father was going to learn the hard way that the empire he’d stolen belonged to me.

And so did Carlo ‘Hunter’ Rosso.

After reading and loving “Dear Professor”, I was very curious about Blaire Drake’s new book “Hunter”. The blurb intrigued me and I love mafia stories, so it seemed promising. A mafia princess and a hunter, yeah give it to me.

Adriana Romano was awoken from her sleep to escape from her damned fate, her father sold her to pay a debt, and her mom, the Queen of the Romano family, took her away for good in order to save her, but Adriana not only left home, she has also left behind her best friend and the love of her life.

Carlo Rosso (aka Hunter), thought his life had no meaning when he was told that her best friend, Addy was dead. She was the light on his life and she has gone forever. Now 10 years after when he was told that she still alive, instead of being happy, he was ordered to kill her.

“The boy I’d once loved was now a monster. Nothing more than a cold-blooded killer.” -Adriana

Will Hunter be able to kill her…the girl he loved since forever? Will he help the mafia Queen get back her realm?

I liked this book, but didn’t love it. The plot was very promising, but personally, I think there was a lack of something. The pace started very intense, but then it was kinda slow and predictable. When you read about mafia, you expect very dark moments, but the author didn’t go there. It was more a romance book with some suspense and really really good sex scenes. The dynamic between Hunter and Addy was great and I very much enjoyed their conversations along with the flashbacks that the author gave us.

Overall this is a good read. You’ll love to meet Addy and Hunter…especially Hunter, he’s the Alpha we all love.
