Coffeehouse manager and reluctant sleuth Juliet Langley returns in a gripping novel from the bestselling author of Death Before Decaf and Mug Shot. Just as things are perking up in Nashville, a serial killer sends tensions foaming over.

Juliet's personal and professional lives have recently received an extra jolt of energy. Her romance with the hunky detective Ryder Hamilton continues to simmer, and business at Java Jive has never been better. But her good mood quickly turns as stale as day-old espresso when she finds out that Ryder has been promoted to his precinct's homicide division. With him risking his life to catch the worst kind of criminals, Juliet's growing sense of unease ignites when a local college student goes missing.

Suddenly every Nashville resident is on high alert, especially Juliet's neighbor Chelsea. Juliet does her best to calm the girl's nerves, but her worst fears are confirmed when she finds Chelsea dead. Even though she tries her best to stay out of it, Juliet's involvement puts a strain on Ryder's first homicide case. The situation soon becomes even more personal for Juliet and her best friend Pete Bennett when one of their employees disappears during her shift. As a killer lurks in the shadows, Juliet, Pete, and Ryder seek out a double shot of justice.

Book Review: 4.5 Stars

A JAVA JIVE MYSTERY is one of my favorite cozy mystery series. It is very refreshing to read Juliet Langley’s adventures, and A WHOLE LATTE MURDER is a ride of mystery, humor, suspense and will keep you guessing since first the dead body found.

A WHOLE LATTE MURDER starts right off where MUG SHOT ended. Juliet Langley (aka Jules) is still running Java Jive coffee shop. She is a hard worker and things are going perfectly. Jules and Pete are still best friends, she’s still dating the sexy cop, Ryder Hamilton. All the amazing characters are back. Gertie, the old lady with the smart mouth, her neighbor friends, Trevor and Ryan and the people who work with her. Everything was normal back in Java Jive until a girl (who is their friend) goes missing. Jules and her friends become very worried about her. Right when Jules thought that her days finding dead bodies was over, she finds another body right next to the building she lives at.

This is a more complex story if you compare it with DEATH BEFORE DECAF or MUG SHOT. There are more people involved in the deaths and Jules is in a really bad danger this time. Of course it doesn’t stop her, nor Pete, to do some sleuthing of their own in order to find out who killed their friend.

You don’t have to read the previous books to read this one, but I would recommend that you do so. You can fully appreciate the whole story. This is the first time I couldn’t guess who was the murderer. The author did a great job with the twist and turns, and I didn’t see that end coming. I can’t wait to have more books about JAVA JIVE. This series has become my new addiction.
