Book Review: 6 My Angel stars!!

This book is unreal! The storyline. The characters. The thrill. The intense love. I was literally, At its Mercy!!
At His Mercy is the first book in the Forbidden Lovers series; a series about forbidden love stories with magnificent couples as their stars. This first time, the story is about Tristan Kelley and Isabella Lawson; a professor and a student. But don’t let this 1rst description fool you. These two are much more than that. Beyond being also the ultimate soul mates, they are a Dom and a Sub. Who wouldn’t be intrigued by this combination? But the plot doesn’t stop there. The amount of thrill, agony, drama and heartbreak it contains makes this couple and their love one of the most special ones I have ever had the chance to read.

Their story begins when Isabella, after a year trying to build herself up again, joins her cousin at a BDSM party, aka “play party”, so she can take a first taste of the lifestyle. Tristan, from the other side, he is leaving that said party. And as a game of the Fates goes, he sets his eyes on her, his Angel, just when he is just out the door. The next thing is a very steamy conversation which leads them to spend an even steamier night together. The Fates though aren’t done with them yet. On the contrary, they have just begun. They bring these two destined lovers together again a week later; as a student and her professor. Although, this is just the beginning of the obstacles they have to overcome to their way to happiness. A very big danger which is linked to Isabella’s past is lurking in the shadows, waiting the moment to strike. And Tristan will do anything to protect her from it.
He’d been numb for so long, nothing exciting him betond a momentary thrill from domination. Now it was as if every part of him was awake.
This book left me speechless when it comes to expressing my feelings for this epic love. I don’t if I should start from the start, the middle or the end since each has more than its fair share of powerful moments between these two lovers that captivate you. And one of the moments that rightfully belong in that category is the whole Chapter 28. Damn if this chapter didn’t left me breathless. From its start to the end, I was at edge of my seat. The way the one intense moment was following the next was just. MAGNIFICENT! As for the rest of the book, the emotions it evokes in every part of your body, soul and everything in between are simply too big and overwhelming to try to find the right words – if they exist – to describe them.
One of the things that exist in every contemporary romance story is the way the human body, lead by the reactions inside, reacts intinctively when it recognizes/finds its other half. It’s one of the most humbling and heart-warming thing for someone to witness and one of the most powerful and body-shaking feeling someone can feel if is lucky enough to find it. And as I said, it may exist in the 98% of the today’s romance novels, but it was the first time that I got so affected by it and my attention was so drawn by it. And if that doesn’t speak volumes for the greatness of this book and love, I can’t think what can.
They stared into one another’s eyes as he moved inside her, their bodies intertwined, turning two into one.
This was the first book I read by Shelly Bell and I have to say that it was all what it took to make me a fan. Her writting is plain amazing and captivating as hell. Once you start her stories, forget any thought about putting it down even for a second. You just have to keep going until you reach the end of the end. I can’t wait to get my hands, not only on the next meant-to-be-epic love stories that will join this amazing book-introduction in this lovely series, but also on her other books.
