fell? What if she’s hurt?”
Boone tried to look in the window, but the curtain blocked his view. “Move back.” Boone stepped back and charged, hitting the door with his shoulder and crashing through it. They heard her scream and shot forward to see her scrambling up on the sofa, wide-eyed in terror.
“What, what happened? What are you doing?” she stammered hoarsely.
“Are you all right?” Both men rushed to her. Boone sat on the sofa next to her and Chase knelt at her feet.
Rachel looked a little dazed as she looked at both of them. “You broke down my door!”
Boone took in her bewildered look, her flushed cheeks and his worry increased. “You didn’t answer the door. We got worried. Chase and I are going to get you to the doctor, baby. Don’t worry about a thing.”
He wrapped her afghan securely around her as he spoke. He bent and lifted her, loving the feel of her in his arms but worried at the dark circles shadowing her eyes.
“Put me down.”
As he moved to the broken door, she started to struggle. “Easy, baby. I don’t want you to wiggle around while I’m on the stairs. Let’s let Dr. Hansen take a look at you.”
“There is nothing wrong with me, you idiot. Put me down.”
Boone froze and looked down at her, then at his brother on the other side of her.
“Then why didn’t you answer the door?” Chase demanded as he tucked the afghan higher.
“I was asleep.”
Boone blinked. “You’re really all right?”
“Except for having a broken door, I’m fine. Put me down and get out.”

Rachel fought against the erotic tingles running through her at his nearness. Being held against Boone’s hard chest brought her body to life. She knew she’d always love both of them. There would always be a special connection with them, especially now that she carried their baby. But she didn’t want to be with someone who didn’t want her, even though her heart and body craved them both. Feeling their hands on her reminded her too much of the night they’d had together.
“Sleeping?” Boone smiled at her tenderly, and her heart leapt. He moved back to the sofa and set her gently onto the cushions. “Is our baby making you tired?”
Rachel slumped. So that’s why they’d come over. “Who told you?” she asked tiredly.
Chase frowned at her tone. “It doesn’t matter who told us. Why didn’t you ?”
Rachel sighed. “I would have eventually. I’m still trying to get used to the idea of being pregnant.”
She refused to let herself weaken under their tender gazes. She couldn’t let them get under her skin again. Or inside her, throbbing, stroking her deeply until—. She shoved the afghan aside and stood. Both men moved close, hands outstretched as if to catch her if she fell. “I’m pregnant. I’m not sick, and I’m not going to fall over.”
Boone looked at her in concern. “But you fainted the other night at the store.”
She didn’t respond to that and walked to the kitchen to get a glass of water, turning to face them when they followed her. “Look, we have plenty of time to work out visitation rights and all that. I’m tired. I just want to fix something to eat and go to bed.”
She turned to put her glass in the sink, closing her eyes against the curl of hot lust in her belly. “Now get out.” She turned to face them. “I’ve got to call someone to fix the door.”
“Sit down,” Boone growled at her when she tried to brush past him. When she just glared at him, he sighed and closed his eyes, and it pricked her heart to see him looking so defeated. Don’t do it. Don’t fall for it again.
“Please, Rachel,” Chase took her arm to lead her to a chair. “Please. We have something to tell you. After that, we’ll fix your door and get you something to eat.” He squatted down in front of her, his eyes filled with emotion. “Please, honey. We need to talk about some things.”
His gaze kept flicking to her stomach.
She nodded. “Yes,
